A Piazza Navona több okból is egyik kedvencem lett. Egyrészről itt jóval kevesebb volt a turista, mint a Trevi-kútnál, vagy a Forum Romanum körül, másrészről legalább annyira beleszerettem a teret középen uraló Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, azaz a Négy folyó kútjába, mint az előbb említett testvérébe.. Bernini alkotása a négy világrész legnagyobb folyóit jelképezi: 💧Gangesz - Ázsia 💧Nílus - Afrika 💧Duna - Európa 💧Rio de la Pata - Amerika Mindegyiknél a növény- és állatmotívumok is az adott térségről árulkodnak, nekem mégis kedvenceim az istenalakok, egészen pontosan a hozzá költött mesék. Ugyanis közvetlen a szökőkút szomszédságában áll a Sant’Agnese in Agone templom, melynek homlokzatát Bernini vetélytársa, Borromini tervezett.
