Mickâs jaw is set, tight enough the muscle jumps a little. He stares at the counter top under his gloved hands, willing himself to breathe. In. Out. In. Out. He doesnât know why he asked Nate to stay. He canât choke out a reason ORÂ an excuse. He feels like a maelstrom.
