despite the invitation, they stand on the precipice of the building. as if something about the institute is stopping them from entering. pale eyes fixate on the man before them, expression blank as ever. there is an itch telling them that something here is inherently wrong. this picture, this portrait before them is not as it should be but whatever feels off isn’t clear. it gnaws away at the back of lukas’s head, deep seated impulses rising to the surface. the motion of stepping in is more laborious than it should be, but gaze stays fixated on the assistant in anticipation.
