"She's asleep now, finally," Sarah says, sitting down next to Ava on the steps of her trailer. "I think she really likes you. All she ever wants to do is talk to you or show you things."

"I like her too. She's a sweet kid."

They're silent for a moment as they pass Ava's cigarette back and forth between them, watching everyone else slowly return to their trailers for the night.

"You don't have to leave, you know. You could travel with us if you wanted to."

The words are out before Sarah's even done thinking them, and she's certain that she's made a huge mistake. Ava's a doctor, one of the best in Chicago, and she'd be stupid to give all of that up.
