A master at masking and appearing normal. Most people know him as incredibly professional and impersonal. At most, he would be called charming and polite. What they don't see is that he is an incredibly difficult, very traumatized man that would be constantly on the brink without Theron and Vector's support. He is obsessive and erratic at best but his immense amount of self-control means it only shows when he allows it to.

At first he wore a helmet as part of his Imperial uniform because he got tired of being dismissed as just an alien. He starts wearing it more obsessively after Hunter leaks information about him and then even more after erasing all traces of his identity. Now his paranoia is so bad that he is seldom seen without a helmet in public unless he's undercover. It's become something of a safety blanket for his paranoia/anxiety.

(If he's Commander he has multiple break downs and panic attacks about being a public figure and being so renowned. Do NOT perceive him.)

As an operative, he is known for seduction and poisonings, often hand in hand. Has built up an immunity to the poisons he uses in and out of battle but his companions have to wear some sort of face protection.

Carries a scary amount of hidden blades. Don't worry about it.

The most petty, high-strung, angry man you will ever meet. Has never relaxed a day in his life.

He loves his work but he hates every galactic power. Considering he's been used by both the Empire and the Republic, it's his opinion that they're just as bad as each other. Sith, Jedi, it doesn't matter to him. He hates all of them.

He is disgusted by incompetence, wastefulness, and inefficiency.

Has an incredibly one-sided feud with Lana because he was passed over for Minister of Intelligence. (He didn't even want the job but is insulted that a Sith got it over a trained intelligence agent.)

Vector and Kaliyo are the only two people from his original crew that he is comfortable with. Everyone else either makes him nervous or actively stresses him out.

Has been married twice. Once to Kaliyo, and they amicably split. Neither of his wives ever knew his name.

He's "Nines" rather than just "Nine" because Theron felt like calling him a number was dehumanizing but Nines refused to give him any other alias or alternative. Neither of them is really sure when "Nines" ended up sticking but it eventually caught onto the rest of the Alliance.

Really, really obsessed with rivals. Having the competition/challenge is enrichment for him and he will flirt incessantly. Hunter absolutely gave him a complex about it. Theron is Nines' self imposed rival and Theron doesn't realize it until the Traitor Arc. He really just thought that was how Nines flirts.

Everything Nines does is to make Theron happy. There is no line he wouldn't cross for Theron's approval. While Nines does have a genuine desire to be a good person, Theron is undoubtedly his moral compass.
