Almond went to bed earlier today and when took Cinnamon there I told her to go very quietly. She sneaked to her bed without a sound and then said excitedly with normal volume "wasn't i very quiet!!"

Okay so the potty situation currently, as of day 6, is not as good as I was hoping for it to be at this point. Because tomorrow it's time for daycare.
i really hope they won't have to put her back in diapers....
tbf some of today's accidents have been because we have not been timing her anymore and have in general had a weird day. but that also tells us that she won't go potty independently. feeling bleh
btw have i ever mentioned that cinnamon has natural curls. they are so fucking corgeous. i try to not show my exitement too much cause almond gets jealous but srsly look at them!! just after wash and conditioner!!
she's probably gonna grow up and wanna have like a buzz cut or whatever so i have to enjoy these now.
and re: potty training: she's had only 3 accidents today, although she may have been slightly dehydrated thanks to the heat. and apparently once she went potty from her own initiave. so yay!
potty training day 2
will you all hate me if i say we haven't had any pee on the floor today? and now i'm probably jinxing it
there have been 4 smaller accidents and once some got on the chair she was sitting on, but none on the floor!!
she's still being timed for every 30- 45 mins or less if there hasn't been pee for a while. we even made it to the beach, about 10 min drive, and had potty with us there.
it's been a little less stressful day but i am waiting for her to take initiative in going
potty update
it took 1,5 hours to get the first pee in the potty. 2 previous ones went to floor. i am exhausted. but mostly bc of the heat and like 30% bc of cinnamon. she is very stubborn
yet something fun: for some reason the word for "counting" and "pulling down" is the same in finnish, so now thanks to that confusion cinnamon has to count to three every time she goes to pull down her panties

cinnamon starts potty training tomorrow and i'm surprisingly emotional about it. diapers are such a clear indicator of someone being a still a small human.
we'll be following the method where you just dress them in panties and then set a timer for every 20 minutes to go potty and then if everything goes well, you'll keep extending the time. we did that with almond and it only took like 2 days for her to be ready to get out of the house without diapers. (read more for example by busytoddler on ig)
ofc cinnamon has been talked about it and she has used potty before etc but she is not dry or signal her need to go. she's been exited to learn actually.
good thing we're having warm weather so cinnamon can wear just panties at home. less layers to pull down/up.
i was going through my photos and found the last one i took of breastfeeding Cinnamon. It was from june last year. It probably wasn't the last feeding ever but one of those. I knew the end was near so i wanted to take pictures of it. Anyway, it's now been over a year. Around the time Cinnamon was about 17 months? That's half a year older than Almond was so i'd call that a successful breastfeeding journey. Very healing experience.
Once, i think about 3 months after weaning, we were laying naked in bed after shower or something and Cinnamon tried to suck my nipple, but nothing came out at that point, and then she just seemed a bit embarrassed :D i thought it was funny. like she had some kind of memory of breastfeeding but then there was nothing to drink.
my employment ended last week and i was supposed to have a restorative child-free week. i had booked massage and dentist, you know things that are hard to fit into your schedule when you work full-time. instead, Cinnamon has been feverish the whole week. I thought i'd be a lot more disappointed but it actually been nice to have so much one-on-one time with her. to remind me that my kids are more that two fighting and screaming dipshits. but by god i will rip my head off if the fever rises again and she can't go to daycare tomorrow
