ART | Venice Biennale highlights During the recently opened Venice Art Biennale under the title Foreigners Everywhere (until November 2024) there is a selection of ancestor of the Swiss branch of Art Brut - Aloïse Corbaz, which could be found in the main pavilion of Giardini.
If you are visiting the art expo, don't forget also to book a cinema tickets for upcoming screenigs in the beginning of may - in participation with Cinémathèque Française there will be a HQ restoured version of the biopic, directed by Liliane de Kermadec, 1975 , "Aloïse". Artist, who lived during both world wars and was put in a psychiatric hospital at her 30's, remaining there until her death; in later years, one of the hospital members discovered her drawings and began to engage in her exhibition activities. The story of the artist, who painted on cardboard and wrapping paper, embodying her dreams in the plot with a whole constellation of legendary film figures: André Téchiné wrote the script, and Isabelle Huppert together with Delphine Seyrig playing the main character in her different life periods.
