Can I Bring You Home For Christmas?
(Not yet posted/finished)
Grian glanced back at Scar.
Scar was still holding the Darth Vader mug carefully in one hand, the steam curling past his face in delicate wisps, and there was still the faintest trace of whipped cream on the end of his nose that he evidently hadn’t noticed.
It should have looked ridiculous.
Instead… Instead Grian found himself smiling again before he could stop it.
Scar caught it immediately. “You can act like you’re judging me all you want, but we both know you love me.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” Grian took a sip out of his mug to try and hide the grin that was still plastered on his face.
“See? There it is,” Scar pointed out as he playfully jabbed at Grian’s rib. “That smile. Might as well have flashing lights surrounding you saying how much you’re inf— intac— how much you like me.”
“You couldn’t be more wrong”
“You have a funny way of admitting I’m right, love.”
Grian rolled his eyes in an attempt to non-verbally deflect.
It didn’t work.
Scar was still looking at him over the rim of the Darth Vader mug with unmistakable fondness, and somehow that made the kitchen feel even warmer than before.
“You have whipped cream on your nose.” Grian pointed out in a second attempt to change the subject.
Scar’s free hand slapped up to his face, rubbing ferociously at his nose in an attempt to remove the offending dairy. “Is it gone?” He looked to Grian.
His nose was as clean as possible, going slightly red at the force at which it was just rubbed. “No.” Grian lied, earning a cackle from where Caroline stood.
“Oh gosh,” Scar continued rubbing obliviously. “Did I get it now?”
“Nope!” Caroline popped the ‘P’.
“Really?” Scar looked to Grian, an exasperated look on his face.
Grian tried to hide the smile that was forming on his lips, but it was futile.
“You’re evil,” Scar accused as he pieced together what happened. “Was there ever any whipped cream to begin with?”
“There was.” Grian confirmed.
“Yuh huh, I’m sure,” Scar rolled his eyes. “You’re so mean to me.” He pouted.
“I’m never mean to you.” Grian insisted as Caroline and Tom made their way back into the living room.
“The meanest person ever.”
