A long time favourite of mine --- Why am I only writing about it now!?Ā
Poffee Canteen has been around for a few years now and I first discovered it when I was asking around for some place new to go to for my birthday dinner last year.
My experience there felt so special and warm. I actually walked over there, built up a major sweat, just to ask the owner if I should make a reservation or not.Ā
After telling me it wouldnāt be necessary, she asked me to take a seat, and gave me a pitcher of water. She told me to just take my time before going out in the eat again. I chatted her up for a bit before leaving, looking forward to coming again on my birthday.

On that day, we were greeted and set up a large table with no if ands or buts. The owner still had a very polite and positive attitude just like the day I came in. Honestly, its so great to be recognized when you go somewhere :)
--- Okay so finally, almost a year later, I went back ---
Going down the same dark-looking street, this shop sits at the end with almost no light in sight when you set out looking for it.
I noticed more dried flowers and hand-made things for sale outside and inside the tiny, well-decorated interior.Ā
Right as I walked inĀ āLong time no see!ā
Oh my god, a year later, and she still remembers me XDĀ
Honestly, Iām touched by the strangest things XDĀ
I noticed the place is fuller than I remember anytime before, and with the hipster crowd youād expect to be in this type of place.
Ordering the same thing I did before, the meat looks a bit darker, but the taste was as I remember --- just like a sloppy joe ... who doesnāt love that !?!?
With pairings similar to last time, yellow watermelon, a tofu dessert, and yoghurt with fruit or berries, I was satisfied with not only the service, interior design, but again with the food :)Ā
I left wondering ... why has it been a year since Iāve been here!?!?!Ā
