Chrysothemis or Theseus?
Even with our fists held high, it never would have worked out right
Let’s go do a thing! (Thing ends up with losing loved one)… let’s do a thing!…
no but imagine Chrysothemis having a chat with orestes about whatever and she just looks in the corner and theres Iphigenia sitting in a chair or something and everyone just forgot to make a big introduction about her return home
thinking about aster... ouhhh dies
i dont think some of this blogs followers know aster so:
asterope is someone who worshipped a mechanical deity, the connected. she questioned her role, became outwardly skeptical, and was killed by that god for it. she was remade by her best friend (mutually in love but never told each other btw) and fellow cultist chrysothemis... in a robotic body that resembles the connected, bc she thought aster was still faithful.
Now heres the rambling:
like. the very idea of her being killed and remade in the god who killed her's image. and how that very god mocks her for All of it. even when she was dying it literally called her a liability to her face, and when she obviously dissented, shes still constantly reminded of it. when she first woke up in her new connected-based body she literally got mind controlled for a while and got to watch (until she forcefully took it back and broke the chip in her that let it happen).
looking back i feel like i shouldve made her more paranoid in the campaign i played her in bc like. looks at this whole situation. its like.... god hates you and is out for you, genuinely,
but like its god. thats still a deity. which reminds me of this song about religious trauma.
and now that ive watched it and remembered asters whole like storyline, overall mentality, etc. DAAAMN i fr shouldve made her 100% less normal than she was. (edit: the rest of my rambling is the tags, i dont feel like moving them lol)

I’d love to hear about eulogy!!
abandoned-ish wip which began as a story about klytemnestra's funeral and kind of expanded from there. it was all over the place, but i took parts of it i liked and used them in other things!
Of course, it is Chrysothemis who delivers the eulogy. Or perhaps administers is a more appropriate term for it – gaze fixed far above the heads of her younger siblings, her warscarred uncle, her rosefaced aunt, and everyone else who did or did not love Klytemnestra, she talks like there’s a gun in her mouth, every word prised from behind gritted teeth. It isn’t that she doesn’t miss her. It isn’t even that she is not raw, wrung-dry with grief. She does. She is. It’s just that she keeps having to say my mother was the best of us, and Chrysothemis has never been a very good liar. Maybe one of the others should have done it. At least Elektra would’ve made people laugh. From the front pew, she makes faces at her sister, who wants to resent her inappropriacy but cannot quite manage it. They share a look, just as they share a nose and a chin and the curl of their hair.
for the wip asks, chrysothemis & iphigenia?
that one is about chrysothemis being a masochist. and dreaming about her dead sister. a normal day in the house of atreus
Arms outstretched, legs open wide, I pretend the night is but a scrap of cloth fastened tight over my eyes. I blink and its rough darkness scratches my skin. Ropes hold me, snug, knots unyielding. I am safe here, in a dream’s binding embrace.
