Christopher Bates Master of Sommelier, Element winery ownerのセミナーに参加。GO-TO WINEさん主催。New York Wine、特にBates氏がワインを造っているFinger Lakesに焦点を あてて、その土壌、複雑な地形、微気候が、如何に生育可能なブドウ品種に影響しているかを論理的に説明。冬マイナス20度になることもあるこの地は、過去にはアメリカ原産品種やその交雑品種しか生育が難しいと信じられていた。しかし、20世紀後半になって、試行錯誤を繰り返したフランク博士により、ヴィニフェラ品種を湖がつくりだす気温が安定している斜面を活用し栽培することに成功。現在は少量ではあるが、リースリングやピノ・ノワールなど多種の国際品種からワインが生産されている。試飲ワインは、リースリング、シャルドネ、ピノ・ノワール、カベルネ・フラン、シラー。 どのワインも驚くほど繊細、優しく純粋な果実味、キリッとした酸味で完璧なバランス。NYワインの印象が変わった貴重なセミナーでした。 #ChristopherBates#Elementwinery#NYwine#Fingerlakes#Riesling#Chardonnay#PinotNoir#CabernetFranc#Syrah#GO-TOWINE#MasterofSommlier
