It’s Christmas 2021 and as the world starts to celebrate Christmas, it would be good to turn out attentions to what’s happening in the world around Covid-19, so that we may make 2022 better.
Christmas is a time of reflection, a time for lamenting, a time for us to think about our experiences over the year. In Covid, the world has seen imaginable suffering and loss with many families left bereaved after having lost loved ones to Covid.
In that time, we have also seen acts of kindness and compassion, through doctors and nurses going beyond the call of duty, to care physically and emotionally for families whose loved ones have passed with others families who continue to physically and emotionally struggle.
My father used to say, ‘you cut your cloth,’ which can be applied to any situation. In Covid, it is important to fit our lives around the virus. We’re hearing about the rising number of cases because we’re living our lives.
Scientists keep telling us whether we’re vaccinated or not, we can still catch Covid and long-covid and are asking us to get into our lives safely by continuing to take the necessary precautionary measures, so that we may stay safe.
I hope you all have a Merry and safe Christmas.
