This long period comet was discovered here in Tucson by Greg Leonard at the @visitmountlemmon Catalina Sky Survey in early 2021. Lighting up the sky for most of this month, it experienced an unexpected brightening event or eruption as it neared the sun on December 20 and has continued to dazzle.
