About the Tonhon Chonlatee finale and the series as a whole:
Miriam is a terrible character. She has no life of her own and no desires. She is only used by the show to help the main characters. She was a call-girl because she didn't have any money to survive. Now she has to sell her body in another way. Also, these matters are barely addressed at all. When they do talk about it, they make fun of it. "Oh, if you had to have sex with creepy men for money, you'd be fucked hahahaha" WTF She would be having non-consensual sex (aka being raped) because she needed money to keep being alive and having a roof over her head.
I love this show but I find this really sexist and disrespectful. Also, P'Ton's father only treats her with dignity because she's a virgin, not because she's a human being. This show talks so much about "being a new era" and whatnot, but it has some really regressive and sexist ideas.
Ps. Also, Chon suffered a rape attempt and no one talked about it? The show even put Neung as a victim of Amp’s homophobia that we’re supposed to sympathize with when really he’s a whole ass rapist?
