Marinette: They... well, I wouldn't call it inheritance per se. What do you call it when you kill someone and get their stuff?
I don't really see it working in canon, but outside of canon I really love the potential of it.
I mean, we're talking about childhood friends who've known each other since they were toddlers, were each other's only friends for a really long time (Chloe did eventually meet Sabrina, but especially for Adrien, Chloe was the only friend he had for a long time) and can relate to each other in ways most other kids can't (being rich kids who were emotionally neglected/abused).
I didn't initially ship it and I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but like with most things in this show, it's so much more enjoyable when you detatch it from canon and just have fun with it.
Even shipping aside, their relationship deserved so much better than what canon did with them.
