“Dad, is it like this?”
Sekai turned to his daughter as he watched her train with chakra control. According to her academy teacher, she was acceding well in chakra control. A typical Matou trait. He smiled.
“Yes, yes, that’s very good, Saten.” Sekai gave a proud nod to his child as he ruffled her hair, grateful he had gotten the time to teach his child a bit more about chakra control. After all, he didn’t really know what the future would bring with a potential slaughter happening to their clan in just a matter of weeks.
“Now Saten, you have great chakra potential, but you should keep it to a degree where you can control it well. Don’t let out too much power that you are not sure will be too much or it’ll hurt you. That’s the key of any jutsu.”
Saten’s mischievous eyes glanced at her dad, happy that she was actually getting some support from him for once. That was all she wanted was her parents to give her some time and attention and that was what she was getting. However, Saten wasn’t aware of what was truly taking place in her clan.
“Dad, do you think I’ll be able to make a great jutsu of my own one day?” She asked as her dad chuckled.
“Yes, I do. Just keep practicing, sweetie.” She certainly has come far since her first day at the academy and when she started learning basic ninja skills. She had a rough start at first, but over the past few months, she has improve drastically.
Yes, the future seemed bright for their clan with all the new generations learning. Perhaps he should’ve listened to Aki’s words about being able to trust his daughter and so many other youths in the clan that he had met over the years for the future. He had hope, but he just knows that most of these younger kids would have to go through hell later on after this terrible ordeal was settled.
“Saten.” Sekai spoke up, leaning down to her height, “Whatever happens to your mother and I, and no matter how bad your life might seem, I want you to remember that you’ll grow up to be a fine shinobi. And if someone says something about it well, you just tell them your old man said that.” He grinned.
Saten was confused at the first part. What? What did her dad mean by whatever happens to her mom and dad?
Noticing the confusion on his daughter’s face, Sekai pulled her into a hug as he rubbed her back, “You’ll find out soon, trust me.”
He felt bad though, leaving her like this, leaving a lot of the younger generation to bear this pain. Possibly knowing that in a couple of weeks, he may end up leaving his daughter behind to handle the shinobi world on her own because he might not come back home alive.
