So, like my oc had shitty parents (overbearing mom and well-intentioned but absent dad) and when she joins Overwatch she just gets adopted in all but name by Dad 76 and Reaper (cause that fucker is COMING HOME DAMMIT). i have so many feelings abot their relationship??? like, someone asks her one day who her parents are and she just answers "Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes" without thinking and everyone just. goes. silent. the gay dads just stare she's like 'oh shit i fucked up'
(part 2) and then dad 76 JUST SAYS IN A MATTER OF FACT VOICE BUT IT'S A LITTLE SHAKY "Yes, she's my daughter." AND NO SHUT UP REAPER ISN'T CRYING HE'LL DENY IT TO THE END OF THE EARTH.HE'S GOT ANOTHER DAUGHTER HE'S GOT 3 KIDS WHO LOVE HIM AND THEY'RE A HAPPY FAMILY THEY GOTTA TAKE A FAMILY PICTURE dAMMIT. (Part 1) Hello! I just wanted to tell you your self inserts are so important to me. I've imagined and written and drawn self inserts since I was ten-eleven years old, both as entertainment and acoping mechanism. But, unfortunately, I grew up in the mary sue witch hunt era, with self inserting being considered disgusting and wrong. I ended up always feeling ashamed and inadequate for self inserting, specially since I've always had trouble socializing so i thought it made me even more of a misfit.
(Part 2) Now I'm older, and thankfully I've managed to share my self inserts with some friends and people - always terrified they'd think me a weirdo. But they liked it - they found the stories compelling, and silly and fun. I was still embarrassed, but felt a little better. And then I found yours and Ita's art. It made me so overjoyed to see you proudly sharing your self inserts online, and people expressing their support for you. I feel like the little girl in me had been avenged. Thank you :)

it sucks that some ppl feel discouraged about showing their self-insert art due to jerks being so hateful to them, but I’m happy you overcame your fear of sharing your self-inserts and kudos to your friends and others for supporting and encouraging you! <3
It’s great they’re being more accepted nowadays and hopefully it’ll motivate some ppl to share their self-insert work with others :D
