so I originally did Calluna as a Leanan Sidhe which now that the game will allow me to edit them I might play around with again

However I was researching yaksha and it lead to well what if I did another mythology creature so… it’s Chione’s treatment.

I went with the Hindu creature the Pishacha. Which actually sounds a lot like durge. (So of course I pick my non dark urge) They were malevolent flesh eating demons in Hindu mythology that were known to be found in cremation grounds and where violent deaths occurred.

they would stalk their victims in the dead of night, luring them into the darkness with promises of wealth or power.

I also started researching redheaded mythological creatures (since I’m a redhead in real life and then that got into the water spirits

so have Kouhua as a welsh water spirit known as the Morgens.

Morgens are ancient water spirits of the depths, the secret keepers of everything submerged and well the drowners of men. The embodiment of the dangerous unknown beneath the waves. Perhaps the restless souls of women who have drowned under tragic circumstances, or perhaps a Welsh aquatic enchantress or even sea fairies.

they sit at waters edge ready to lure you to them and drag you below. Sometimes the morgen even offer cryptic gifts or obscure prophecies, but always with a hidden cost, ensuring that no encounter ends without consequence.

last time on Chione’s logs. The group had visited lenore’s tower. Sadly due to the letters and notes found, Lenore led a lonely life and while she found love she told them too late. Chione hopes she found peace in the afterlife. Well she hoped that later Astarion and karlach had to remove Lumine, Gale and Chione from the tower as they all got absorbed in the books, inventions and plants. Chione developed special googles to let her see in the dark.

This time they finished up in the tower, got the potion from omelum and finally made it across the lake to the forge and found the duegar. Chione, due to her lack of emotions, was elected as the spokesperson and she bluffed her way through convincing them all she was a true soul and not here to kill them all for being absolutist slavers. She even freed the spiders.

Then they discovered the temple was home to dark justiciars making Shadowheart happy. They rescued some gnomes by poisioning the captors and held a vigil for the killed gnomes. Also Chione entered into a bet with Barcus, which she eventually won. She even managed to convince a gnome to give her rune powder and then she kept it to study using some other powder and grenades to blow the rocks. Seriously the dwarves have no imagination. Lumine is already plotting how to get that powder away from her sibling.

She did warn the one cool dwarf to run away when she decided to turn the rest of them into icicles. during the huge battle, Gale did get thrown into the lava which meant Chione had to rescue him before he died. Nessie had a blast copying herself. Lumine would like to add if four displacer beasts are hunting you… don’t stay around to fight.

The dwarves tried to use enlarge but Chione and Lumine both made their attempts comical by showing the duegar how to really use your height by dropping their human size. Then it was cutting off nere’s head, telling the gnomes to go off to the myconid for healing and sending barcus to camp.

Chione’s name comes from the Greek goddess of snow. When I first developed her as an oc it was around the theme Bitter cold (and yes she was a twin even back then.) I could have gone the draconic sorcerer route but it wasn’t enough ice plus I wanted to try artificier. Thus her other class became the frost veil sage mind weaver. (Wizard monk)

I was talking with @theya-art when they mentioned their character Caedus liked heat but they themselves didn’t like it so much. So then I got the idea of Chione being convinced to offer her ice skills to people. (She gets it. She had to be in Avernus for a year with her girlfriend)

brief history:

Somehow given to duskenvald, grew up struggling to survive and raise her and her sister. Escaped through the ghost light express where she trained under another artificer. Then went off to study some frost monks.

Phobia/fears: Chione has always had to be self reliant. She had to protect her twin. She had to keep them alive. It’s turned into a fear of being a burden. She doesn’t ask for help, she struggles to accept gifts and she struggles to let people in because of it. Maybe part of it is she doesn’t remember what led her to growing up in duskenvald, why did her parents abandon her and Lumine?

Hobbies: well she loves tinkering and creating new things which of course leads to alchemy. She also gardens weird and rare plants with Lumine. She has a mad scientist theme and well one has to stick to their theme.

Personality:

Chione is extremely cautious to the point that some often call her icy; she loves to observe the world around her before coming to any conclusion. To add to this she isn’t the most friendly in fact one would say she is a bit stubborn and can have a bit of a temper. Luckily as she has gotten older she is less likely to find herself picking fights. Having been just her and her twin most of her life she hates to be babied, protected, or pitied and at the same time hates to be the center of attention rather liking to take a side role. She will lead if need be though.

While she doesn't have great social skills she has an excellent memory and she is extremely loyal. Even if she hates what you're doing she'll come along so you wont have to be alone. She also has a weakness for animals, especially cats and loves playing and helping children even if some how she comes across as scary. She’s also a great fighter.

Alignment: True Neutral

Flaws: Chione is very rigid, while she will change and can accept change she is very stubborn and willing to defend her position. This can lead her into fights and tension and Chione being overly cautious to the point of missing out on things because it’s better to stick with what’s known until more information is accumulated. However she’s also has an icy temper that can lead her into problems. its better than when she was younger but she does acknowledge she can be vindictive.

Virtues: Chione always is supportive and loyal to those who have earned it. She’ll be the first one in your corner, the first one to come to your aid. She also has a great memory which helps her remember even the smallest things and she’s extremely patient not jumping to conclusions.
