Itโs Janeโs ๐ 13TH BIRTHDAY! ๐ and ๐ 10 YEAR ADOPTIVERSARY! ๐
I can not believe it was 10 years ago that I rescued her and that sheโs been an important part of our family for a whole decade! ๐ฅฐ We hadnโt had a pet for many years before Jane came home with me. It was incredible the difference she made in our homeโ even the first years when she was still very weary and closed off.
Never having had chinchillas before I read as many chinchilla books as I could find, and we got to learn so much through Jane for instance that chinchillas are super intelligent and much like a cat or a bunny. She knows her name, can be trained (like when playtime is over and she stands up to be picked up), and have so many cute quirks. She really taught me patience and evolved my nurturing skills. For years I sat quiet during playtime, letting her sit there afraid from I assume the children who poked at her when she was a classroom pet. Slowly around a year of having her she would come over to me, then come over and stay there to let me pet her, then she would explore my limbs (haha), then hop and run and โMarioโ off the walls as we call it! Now she practically runs our household... she has us wrapped around her tiny finger! ๐โค๏ธ
Sheโs our diva with a sweet face and sweeter soul, and I canโt imagine my life without her in it! I feel so lucky she came to us and we got to have her in our family. ๐ญ I love my Janie bug!
