豆奶 vs. 豆浆
i am currently making anki flashcards (i have over 60 overdue cards to make...) and one of the words was 豆浆 meaning soy milk. i knew that 豆 is a character in bean-like things just like soy, but i was so confused about 浆 because i know that it is not milk... but i checked that fact go check that (nct 127 reference) and it actually means thick liquid!! (because soy milk is not like cow's milk obviously) it makes so much sense!!!

i was gathering some pictures and i thought id might make them into a mood board if i only had some more photos of green and blue things, but i didn’t know how to look up what i wanted, since i’m thinking of those pictures where water, trees, the sky, mountains, etc all look both green and blue somehow.
so i thought id google those chinese words that mean both green and blue and get something? bc i’ve seen people use those pictures im thinking of to explain why the word means both colors ig
so i type 青 (qing) and search, which only gives solid blue results, and then i add 苍 (cang), which i also remembered meant both blue and green, and well.
today i learned through serendipity and from first principles what Dongfang Qingcang’s name means lol
