Chilly Outside

Reverse chivalry? Marion's eyebrows inch upwards, bemused at the sentiment as she shrugs off her thick, warm coat and drapes it over his shoulders. And she allowed him to draw nearer, her arm tucking protectively around his shivering frame. "Lord. Ya're just 'bout ta catch ya death--" She fussed. "Chatterin' teeth like that is how most people end up with nothin' but gums." Whilst Elsie fully appreciated his outward beauty, it wasn't right to consider him with dentures nor the idea of him having to stick to pudding only diets.
"Here -- give me ya hands." She murmurs, figuring they're a frightful shade of blue. She offers to encompass them with her own.
"Deal." Elsie readily assures him, grateful to have the last musing out of her head. But she has zero intentions of taking her coat back. Not from him, when he so clearly had use for it. "I've lived in worse conditions than this. It'll take a heavy snowfall to really hit my bones." She softly reminds him. "The way I figure it, a little chill for me will build character. Sides the army never quite gave a," She pauses to amend her own lexicon. "A da-darn. Unless our noses were bound ta downright snap off our faces, we carried on as ordered."
Elsie finds herself swallowing down hard at the beckoning of her beloved nickname. "Yes?" Comes a breathless answer, for she hung on the very silence. Her eyes flicker upwards towards him in concern. His inquiry causes a smile to curl across her lips. "Well, ya see, that there is a tough one. Being round ya isn't exactly great for my tough-kid persona--" Elsie teasingly starts. Then dropping her voice to feign being affronted, she adds. "Of course I would. Ya know ya are very dear to me. Whyever would ya ask?" Then with a sigh she adds. "Spendin' time with you is an absolute highlight." Then she turns her gaze upwards, softened eternally by his long lashes and kind eyes. "What's goin' through ya head, Jarin?"
