I didn’t mention this last year when the deck came out, but Grandma was the one who first introduced me to #alice 🍄and at age 92 she passed while I was in the middle of making the #drawings for this deck. So this deck is also in honor of her memory. Even as a child I was so aware of my mortality and the connection to a little girl named Alice from over a century ago who had since grown old and died but still lived in spirit in this book. This also began my life long realization of the importance of a legacy through publishing. 📚This poem captured the nostalgic and beautifully melancholy feeling that is Alice that I aspired to recreate in this deck.
