The dinosaur Childcraft art you highlighted was great, but have you seen the sea creature art in the 1979 "Story of the Sea" one?
I haven't! Sounds amazing, I gotta see it... is it the kraken over at this link?

Did you grow up with these? I rescued these from my meth-gead niece. These used to be part of a full set that I poured over in the pre-tv, pre-internet 70's.
There is a full set on sale on Ebay, but I don't think I could ever afford the postage.

Childcraft - The How and Why LibraryĀ
1973 edition
A piece of my childhood came in the mail today. My inner baby #mathnerd heart is so happy right now. šā¤ļø #myfirstmathbook . I LOVED my #Childcraft book set when I was a kid. I read all of themāeven the Guide for Parents. I was so excited to find a used copy online of #13: #Mathemagicāmy favorite in the set. . As I flipped through the 300+ pages of it, I remembered the a number of the layouts and the pictures and the stories. . I remembered the logic puzzles at the beginning, the lists of how to count to 10 in different languages, the mathematics of why vampires couldnāt exist, and the stories behind why we have different units of measurement. . This is the book that introduced me to the novels The Phantom Tollbooth and Flatland. . I loved constructing the Mƶbius strip and the 3D shapes from the nets towards the end. . This book still influences my #teaching. I used something I read in this book a couple of weeks ago to explain a point in class. . In short, this is a great book. šš . I just wanted you to know that. š https://www.instagram.com/p/BnnPBGwH-ok/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1d63x0bdmemsj
