I'm sure a stage version is ten times better, but the cell block tango sequence mesmerizes me everytime. DANCE, MURDEROUS WOMAN, DANCE.

has any Chicago x Hunger Games stuff been done? I just watched Chicago (2002) and I couldn't stop thinking about how similar it was to the Hunger Games. The glorification of murder and violence, coaching someone through a story for the press, how fast people move on to something new, and a false pregnancy to top it all off. Idk, if anyone knows of any edits, fics, or aus that combine these two, please send them my way.
Have you seen Chicago (2002)?
Yes
No
Haven’t even heard of this movie
[Note: This poll is a re-do of an older poll, as the original poll for it received less than 1,500 votes.]
i've never seen it live on stage so maybe i'm missing something here but it is crazy how much better the movie version of We Both Reached for the Gun is than all the recorded versions i've heard. The editing switching between reality and the fantasy of Flynn's lies, the environment of this huge puppet show with all the reporters strung up with the costumes and make up, even the way the sound effects of the cameras and printing presses build momentum with the music - all of which would be impossible in a non film setting. Exactly the way a movie musical should be - you should always take the opportunity to go a bit crazy about it

the worst thing about chicago 2002 is that it ends. genuinely 10/10 and i don’t know if we’ll ever have a better movie musical
