Sooooo… Chi joined The Incident out of nostalgia. Yes, the main reason was because it would help train her abilities as a Scientist, but the driving force was having the chance to work with Erica again. While Erica wanted to distance from the past, Chi, in a way, was wanting to relive it. Getting the opportunity to once again be with “one of her dear traveling companions from three years ago” wasn’t gonna be something she was just gonna pass up, and well… just like Erica, with the timeskip Chi got EXACTLY what she wished for! She got to experience nearly every notable moment from the adventure she had with her precious party all over again! The good, the bad, and the ugly.

It’s never really acknowledged by canon (apart from very very small comments), but. Dude. She was only 18 when the 2nd Dark Lord Attack happened. She was 15 during the 3DS series! I swear, when you start to really think about the events of Miitopia from a mental health standpoint, Chi went through so much while adventuring at such a young age… and I kinda imagine that she didn’t fully realize just how bad reliving certain moments would’ve been for her until it was too late.
