The 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 was a powerful muscle car with a 454-cubic-inch V8 engine that produced 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. It had a 4.25-inch bore, 4.0-inch stroke, ported heads, and lightweight aluminum pistons. The LS6 was paired with an M22 “Rock Crusher” 4-speed manual transmission and had a curb weight of 3,999 lbs. It could go from 0–60 in 6 seconds and complete a quarter mile in 13.7 seconds at 139.3 mph.

Rarity: Only 4,475 units were built.

Convertible value: The convertible version is worth almost twice as much as the hardtop coupe.

Marketing: The LS6 was rated at 450 horsepower for the Chevelle, but 460 for the Corvette.

The 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle received a styling update, replacing the dual headlights with a single headlight setup and dual cornering lights. The base model was simply called "Chevelle" and included a two-door sport coupe and four-door sedan. The top trim was the Malibu, available in multiple body styles. The standard Chevelle SS engine was a 350-cubic-inch V8 with 245 gross horsepower. Here's a closer look at the 1971 Chevelle SS 454:
