Chevy crate engines compared: every current Chevrolet Performance motor, real hp and torque, and what the price leaves out.
Just published the complete guide to Chevy crate engines: https://www.buildpriceoption.com/chevy-crate-engines/
Every current Chevrolet Performance motor, family by family: small block, big block, LS, LSX, LT, E-ROD, racing, and eCrate. Verified horsepower and torque for all of them in spec tables you can actually scan.
What I did differently: I pulled every number fresh instead of trusting my own older video. Turned out several had drifted. The ZZ6 EFI is up to 420 hp now. The LS376/515 and LS376/525 figures are easy to get backwards. And the LT5 has quietly disappeared from the lineup entirely, which most articles have not caught up to.
There is also a full section on what the price does NOT include, because the engine is usually only 40 to 60 percent of what it costs to get a swapped car running. Mounts, cooling, fuel delivery, ECU, exhaust, driveline, accessory drive. That is where budgets die.
Plus a straight answer on buy versus build.
