his whole thing is that he’s a bit of an asshole and thinks highly of himself but he has a good heart. he’s just been hurt many times, leading him to believe only he can be the best, and that caring for others would hurt him further. in the present day he has learned to trust some (namely rudie).
tldr he has narcissistic personality disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder

Well.. everything!! I must say, his enjoyment of the holidays is charming, as is his voice, and his mannerisms.. though I think the best part about him is his care for me.
How do you feel about the other toons?
Other toons.. well, let’s see!
I think Dandy’s stuck-up. Thinks he can get tapes by just askin’.. sometimes he does but that’s beside the point!
Dyle is.. okay. Don’t tell a soul, but he intimidates me.
I tend to forget Shelly exists. Vee is as stuck-up as the flower. Astro annoys me and so does Pebble. Me and Sprout don’t talk much.
Bobette is too upbeat. So is almost everyone else. Except for Coal. I respect that one.
And Rudie. Well, what to say about he? He’s the only toon that could ever compare to me!! More than once I have tried to free him from that stinkin’ basement. He doesn’t deserve that. No, not at all.. he has too good a heart.
