FACES OF PEAK IS COMING SOON!!!! AHHH IM EXCITED!!!!

A GREAT THING TO WAKE UP TO AGAIN AS ALWAYS!!!!

oh my god 🥺 i absolutely adore this because you know robby would be MORE excited than his daughter!!

(also i am using the name claudia for the daughter’s name)

it would almost seem like serendipity that robby would have a full day free on the day of claudia’s first little league game because he’d unfortunately missed every practice because of work.

he’s overwhelmingly giddy that he’s able to trade his scrubs and hospital attire for a plain white tee, grey hoodie, sunglasses, jeans and sneakers. his wedding ring would glint in the light as he fiddles with it subconsciously, to ground himself.

she would be all dressed and ready, except her shoes because you have a rule of ‘no shoes in the house’, so they would be sitting neatly at the front door along with her bag.

a couple of photos would be sent to the work gc of her in her uniform, smiling brightly and so excited to show off, and of course everyone is replying to say how cute she is and good luck wishes (jack getting a facetime call and dana a phone call because they’re her favourites. santos, whitaker and mel getting videos because claudia loves them).

“i’ve made a personalised first aid kid just in case. it’ll have everything we need.”

your favourite (and the cutest gift robby had bought you for a Mother’s Day surprise so far) cherry print cooler is filled with ice cold refreshments, incredible homemade snacks and enough room for what you knew robby would inevitable insist on packing (this time his perfectly curated first-aid kit).

“so excited to show you how good i am.” claudia says, scooping cereal into her mouth and not noticing the dribble of milk down her chin but of course robby does; wiping the spill off without thinking and nodding when claudia smiles and says ‘thank you’.

“i’m so excited too. it’ll be like watching the pros.”

he would kiss her head before walking to you, pulling you close and pressing a kiss to your lips.

“almost ready my love?”

your eyes go soft at the nickname as you nod, leaning your head up for one more kiss and the feeling of his beard on your skin.

“yeah. come on claudia, time to go.”

claudia’s concentration face is just like robby’s as she stands at home base, helmet on and bat held comfortably.

robby is sipping on a water that you infused with strawberries (the fruit is floating through it, along with ice cubes —aka his favourite way to drink his water—), while you both sit surrounded by other parents. the weather is perfect and the way that robby allows himself to relax and be present has your heart swooning, his sunglasses slipping down his nose in the most casually hot way.

he doesn’t take his eyes off his daughter when he starts talking because he doesn’t want to miss a second of his baby girl having fun.

“look at her, darling. she looks-”

“just like you when you’re concentrating and determined.” you say, giggling at the soft flush on his cheeks and coy smile on his lips.

“i was going to say, like she’s put in so much work at practice to stand and hold the bat correctly. i’m so proud of her.”

you laugh behind your hand and nod.

“she’s been practicing extra hard for her first game.”

it would be then that claudia would swing, her bat connecting solidly with the ball and sending it sailing far down the field.

she drops her bat and begins to run with all her might to first base, then second, third and then heading around to home.

robby would be on his feet so quickly, excitement thrumming through him as he watches.

“THAT’S IT BABY. RUN. YOU’RE GONNA MAKE IT ALL THE WAY. GO FOR HOME.”

it would be after claudia reaches home base again, her sneaker imprint evident in the dirt, that she runs over to the fence and bounces up and down in excitement to make sure robby had seen it.

“DID YOU SEE? DID YOU SEE? DID YOU SEE?”

robby would be at the fence, crouching down to meet her eye with the biggest smile on his face.

she’s doing an architectural digest home tour (the house is absolutely stunning with a cherry red plush conversation pit living room being a breathtaking feature) and robby just so happens to appear in the background, smiling politely but not really engaging.
