hello everyone
my name is nia and i'm a freshman in college. not only am i a freshman in college, but i am a 2nd generation college student and a 1st generation hbcu student at a HUGE hbcu. and on top of that, i'm supposed to be the first doctor in my family. i have the smarts for it, but these days i truly question if i have the grit. do i really want to work that hard? i love medicine and i love helping people but do i have the grit to dedicate my entire life to being miserable and having my nose in books? sometimes i even question if i even want it that bad. yes i love medicine but the process to get to where i want to be is soooooooo strenuous. and i'm not doing this because of my parents, I set this standard for myself, medicine is my passion. but am i really willing to do whatever it takes to get there? i guess this is where we find out! welcome to my blog, where i inspire other fellow "balance oriented" future physicians to keep going. shoot i need some "inspiring" myself. anyways!! stay tuned to hear about my journey.
