Annabel told me this morning before she left for her first day at her new school that she was feeling “confident”. . When she came home she told us that she had a great day, found all of her classes, and made three new friends who she’s meeting tomorrow morning to walk to school with. . Also, during silent classroom reading time, she took her Bible out of her backpack and started to read. After this, she was approached by a few people (including a teacher) who identified themselves as fellow believers. . I’m so proud of my girl, so thankful for all of you who have prayed, and humbled by the steady faithfulness of our great God. . #CheesyDad (at London, United Kingdom)

If you are a person who prays, would you please pray for my Annabel? She starts secondary school here in London on Monday. She will be attending a large, public school that extends all the way up to 17 and 18 year olds. Pray that God would give her grace to be wise, kind, and faithful. Pray that God would bring friends into her life and also that she would be the friend to others that will make her salt and light for the gospel. Like she said to me - “that’s why we’re here after all”. . (BTW, this picture captures her perfectly. While her brothers were playing ball, wrestling, and trying to catch birds, she found a peaceful spot in our neighborhood park to sit and read her Wingfeather book. Had a great day exploring our new city with my crew. Annabel turns 12 today. My dang, stinking heart. My only girl. The absolutely little love of my life. Loves and serves her little brothers. Unimpeachable moral integrity. Never uttered an unkind word about another person in her life. Fearless and bold in our new mission adventure. The most voracious reader I’ve ever met. Smarter than anyone I know and she truly doesn’t even know it. And most importantly of all - she’s my sister in Christ. I get to raise her for just a few more years, then I get to watch her obey and serve God as an adult, and then - one day - we’ll enjoy glory together with Jesus. But, as for today I think we’re just gonna eat at Olive Garden and go to Sky Zone or something. Happy Birthday my sweet Annabel. #CheesyDad
