P.S. You look really pretty when you’re focused.
Sol passed the note over to Rhett and tried to focus as she waited on a reply.

Fight
There were just some days where Sol woke up on the wrong side of the bed and she was itching for a fight today. Rhett just happened to be the first person she saw that pissed her off. She didn’t even have to do anything. Just by being a werewolf she was on Sol’s shit list. “Who let this mutt around here? Should be locked up in Azkaban with all of the other murderers.” Sol barked at Rhett even though she knew all of this was just to rile her up and she shouldn’t. Rhett hadn’t done anything to her or to Grant but she represented the wolves who did and she was pissed.

The fateful meeting hasn’t gone the way she wanted to. Not that she really knew what she wanted. But she certainly hasn’t expected him to say he had a wife and daughter elsewhere. A recreation of his first family that he abandoned but he actually stayed for them. It felt like a bullet through the heart knowing he chose to stay but it wasn’t with her. He told her that his other daughter needed an experimental surgery and he needed money. He was going to ask his mom, Sol’s grandmother, but he came to find she was dead. His mother had sent a single letter saying that Soledad had joined her in London.
Sol left without giving him a solid answer and she ran home. She was breathing hard and was struggling not to cry as she sunk down against the front door. She hasn’t told anyone what had happened at work and she wasn’t even sure what she would say to anyone if they were home.
