And just like that, I'm a duathlete! 2.2 Mi Run + 12 Mile Bike + 2.2 Mile Run made this athlete go to sleep in the middle of my meal. While flying out to @htcrelay, I managed to get sick and it reared its ugly head in a horrible way since Monday. I had to significantly pull back on most of my training for the week and it made me nervous about today's effort. Kinda hard to argue with a respiratory infection and if it wasn't my first duathlon, I might have contemplated sitting this one out -- clearly I didn't. I represented the back of the pack hard because I was fabulously DFL (dead f*ckin last) from the start. I'm more than okay with that. The NY Tri organization is like a big family. I'm so glad that I chose my first duathlon with them. I'm looking forward to signing up for more torture in the near future! Y'all have no idea on how much it means to me to make this leap. After doing this duathlon, I'm proclaiming 2020 as the year of the triathlon; hold me to it. Thank you to all of my sponsors, incredible following, family and friends. Special thanks to my husband for being my rock. I held onto his voice at Harlem Hill as I was fighting an anxiety attack on the course. New things scare me on a crazy level but most people don't see it through my zany war cries and animated stories. Overall, I am thankful. In six days. I will be taking on my first powerlifting meet. Do something crazy. Maybe even twice. Allow it to scare you into a better person. Onward upward my friends. #runningfatchef #fatrunner #sponsoredbysuperfithero #swiftwick #chaseadventure #hokaoneone #timetofly (at Central Park West & 72nd) https://www.instagram.com/p/B14Xb3tnXlT/?igshid=vz18f3zv7eca
