“Is that what you call it?”
He wasn’t the only one to hold a grudge; that much was plain to see from the blonde’s face. Terra’s expression was set in a snarl; her hands, loose at her sides, were already grasping telekinetically for the ground beneath both of their feet; her one visible eye glared hatefully.
“Because all I got from it was that I was never going to be good enough. Not until I controlled my powers to be up to your precious standards. Well, guess what?”
She strode towards the larger titan. Her intention was to get him to back up, to keep her from closing the distance; though, physically unimposing as she was, that intent might have seemed almost laughable... were she not so deadly serious about it.
“I did learn how to control them. Slade taught me how. So who do you think I should side with? All of you? Who doubted me, who put conditions on your friendship, on whether I could be one of you or not?”
Sections of the street tore themselves up as her fists clenched, floating on either side of her. She didn’t quite attack... but she was poised to, at any moment.
“Or the person who actually saw value in me right from the start?”
If she was honest - really, really honest - with herself, Terra would have known she wasn’t being fair. Her accusations, were they levelled at Robin or Raven, might actually have carried some weight; but Cyborg had been to accept her as she was, right up until her betrayal.
It was just easier to cast the net of blame over all of them. It meant she could eclipse any minor sliver of guilt she might feel by telling herself that they all deserved what she was doing to them.
