They aren't connected at all. By all means, that's a completely different Gaster. Very likely a whole different timeline/universe (?)

Fact is that the Group Project mini comic series was made before I even came up with Twin Runes. Even if some design element were kept (like Kris' braces), please don't view them as one and the same.
