TIL that Xu Haiqiao was originally cast to play Changheng but lacked chemistry with Esther Yu's Xiaolanhua due to their age difference - their theme was supposed to be 'young/first love,' but the two came off more like a senior partnered off with a junior instead, so they had to recast.

Then, just when the director was having a headache about this problem, Zhang Linghe, who just happened to be filming next door, wandered over to the LBFAD set when he had nothing better to do, caught the director's eye while practically doing fuck all, and was then promptly collared and cast on the spot to play Changheng LOL.
