while i dont have much to say about how it lives, this is definitely one of my faves in terms of rendering and design, up there with my zippleback.

long, prehensile tails mean these dragons have an extra limb at their disposalm theyre intelligent enough to be able to pry open locked doors or shift structures just enough to slip in undetected.

though they are able to hint on their own, and extremely effectively at that, in recent years it has been noted that they tend to loiter about in woods and rivers near human society. they seem to have developed a nasty habit of sneaking into farms to gorge themselves on easy prey, or whatever else edible they find.

changewing are among the dragons that ate noticeably small but still able to be mounted, at cost to their flight skills. their wings are built better of gliding than full flying, and extra weight worsens this significantly.

they possess large tendrils from the underside of their facial horns. these are multi-purpose, but they seem to primarily serve as whiskers, dragging through the shubbery behind them, invisible, to see if it snags on a snack.

to sleep, changewing will gather in small groups spread out over a territory, and organise their jellyfish-like tendrils to cover as much ground as possible. not only will it alert the pack if a foe tries to sneak in, but it can detect even tremors in the ground of changes in the wind, like wingbeats. though they predate on human livestock, they often fall prey to bigger dragons in the wild.

if you wish to defeat a changewing, the best method is to attack its tendrils with a much force as you can manage. the thousands upon thousands of nerves in a foot of whisker are so sensitive, even a cut will send them reeling. they will be quick to turn tail if you agitate these tender weakspots.

naturally, as their name implies, the most famous ability of their dragon is their unparalleled camoflauge. they can blend into near any environment, so long as it appears within the natural world. a trained eye can spot where the patterns shift from dragon to rock, but many vikings will find themselves ambushed and overwhelmed by these beasts. the key is to stay calm and identify the whiskers.

their eyes and noses are mounted up the top of the face so that they may camoflauge in running streams withour fear of drowning
