*clears throat*
You know, it's insane. It's crazy how Black people have been left out of so many opportunities to bring change, so many awards have been snubbed, so many assumptions have been made about our people. In school, we were looking at if the suffrage movement was progressive. My answer...it wasn't.
Yes. Alice Paul and the NWP (National Woman's Party) were very strong and they didn't give up. However, they feared adding Black women to the group because they viewed us as a setback. You would think that when white women gained the right to vote it would lead to a new perspective being adding on to the voting pool, and hopefully they would vote for a leader who strives for equality, but look. In the last election, 53% of White women voted for Trump. (Yeah...that guy totally wants equality...right? *hint the sarcasm*) Eventually, the fight for Black women's rights became a whole other fight years later.
Oh, and also. Let's talk about the Black Lives Matter movement shall we? I have a lot to discuss...for starters, here's a bold statement: STOP TRYING TO TAKE THE LIGHT OFF OF THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT...OKAY? JUST STOP IT.
I have been informed that there is a #WhiteLivesMatter hashtag? Umm..why?
Listen, I'm not here to speak negativity. White lives do, in fact, matter. Except there is no need for that. Throughout history, white individuals have been privileged.
Some White Folk: "But, Zoe. I've never spoke a racist thing in my life...how can I be privileged? I worked hard."
Truth is: Honey, you are still privileged. All factors have worked for you. Everything from who wins all the awards, who is looked at as the "prettiest race," who is assumed to be smart?
We are in need of a Black Lives Matter movement. Police Brutality is an issue right now, and we need something to speak out against it. Before we go to the government, there is a platform right on our cellphones that we can use to speak out against racism. (Hey, look at me. I'm using tumblr.) So when we created a hashtag, we spoke out. Now here comes all of these people trying to take the light away. Just stop it. We need a light to shine on what we have been facing, so that hopefully there can be change. There simply isn't a need for a White Lives Matter hashtag.
What's my point? Well, my point is that all of our lives, our people have been looked at as an angry, useless, people. Our men were beaten and prosecuted, our women were raped, and handed stereotypes. Our children forced to live and grow up to that stereotype. If 2018 is really gonna be a great year, I'm expecting to see some change in all of these departments. Peace, Love, Equality. That's what I want in my 2018. Happy Black History Month.
Tommorow, June 26th 2018, im voting yes for the legalization of marijuana. Anr afterward im going to pray to Jesus Christ that the bill passes. Marijauna is a plant that comes with medical benefits that could help change lives for the better. And help people see results they may not ever had. Many fear itll lead to recreational usage but its already too late for that. Many people across the nation use marijauna everyday with no real ailment to validate it. And theres also alot of good young people in jail for possesion of a plant that doesnt do anything but make you hingry and docile. You may think its a fad, and voting against it will shut it down but it wont. People are naturally rebellous and will do what they want regardless of laws and rule. But if you vote for it, you could potentially take away the awe factor and let those who need it get the help they deserve. So how about we stop with the hindering propoganda and actually take real steps to making america great in the first place. #marijuana #itsgood #itsgreat #makeamericagreat #openmindedness #change2018

so I took the first step and called them to take the 90 minute WLS class this friday. I’m probably going to be the youngest person in the class and I’m already feeling anxious.
How many topics and skills have you realised should have been taught in schools but were pretty much never mentioned? What are they and why do think the aren't taught? #school #education #anonymous #anonarmy #curriculum #change2018 #critialthinking #questioneverything #questionmore
