Out in the front garden today, I've been neglecting it for a while.
This is a Chamelaucium, it's been a highlight of winter with these beautiful bright pink flowers. I really like wax flowers (of which this is one) and I'm tempted to find more. Athough this is an Australian native it's not native to this area; The bees don't seem to care though.

A myrtle native to the central cosat of Western Australia, but now widely grown in areas with a Mediterranean climate, sandy soils, and plenty of sun.
As well as being a highly ornamental shrub, the leaves have a citrus flavour and can be used in cooking.

Chamelaucium ‘MB Violet’
The Australian genus Chamelaucium belongs to the Myrtle Family, and their flowers with a glistening cup at their center are reminiscent of Leptospermum flowers, also belonging to the same family. The fine foliage of Chamelaucium shrubs does not cast dense shade, making them an excellent planting companion for things that appreciate dappled light, and the beautiful flowers are a great bonus. ‘MB Violet’ is a cultivar of C. uncinatum, from Western Australia.
