I thought YouTube had just stopped showing me new Chadtronic videos.
Turns out...no. There aren't any. Because he decided to parlay his YouTube fandom into a side vanity project, and...
People gave him over FOUR-HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS to make some goofy Chao Garden / PokΓ©mon-like game, and...
Well.
"HE'S BUSY WORKING ON IT!"
Yes. By himself, apparently. Because all the devs he hired quit after he blew through the money with feature creep.
I'm not saying he was ever my ride-or-die. But he was funny and made good content. A shame he flushed it all on this very stupid boondoggle.
$400,000 means you pay everyone a ton more to make your $25,000 indie game. You have to keep focus. Because trying to be Nintendo with $400,000 seems possible, until you realize they can blow that on TRASH ideas and not even blink. You aren't up there. Just make your little game to prove you can. Give the money back, if you want.
But don't do this. Never do this. Don't Duke Nukem Forever. Don't Kingdoms of Amalur. Make the little game and be content.
Shame. Real shame.
