I said I wanted to yap about my dnd character so I shall, time to be very self indulgent.
(TW for discussion of death and mild gore, probably)
This is Unity, my wonderful f'ed up child. Or should I say children?
Update on WCtS
Okay. So. I'm trying to commit myself properly to this project, and also seeing how consistent I can be if I really try (smth I'm certainly not great at, so I'm seeing this as a way to challenge myself).
Ch 4 is well underway, but I intend to get a little beyond that before posting so I have time to write the chs at a slower pace (and also to illustrate them), so there likely won't be updates for a while (depending on how quickly I get ch 5/6 done, who knows, I could be done in a week. Unlikely, but there's always a chance).
In the time it takes for me to build a buffer, I've plans to post about lore and characters and general extra story things so that there's still something, but those will doubtless be sporadic (and limited, naturally) - smth to buy me time while I write and yet simultaneously not doing that cause it takes time away from writing but it'll be fun soooo...
Anyways, those are my thoughts. Let's see how this goes.
I love art fight so much but WOW do I let it eat up so much of my time.
Sometimes when I feel like writing I have to draw the blinds, put on a candle, get my good keyboard out and sit there thinking for a time and letting the Words accumulate before starting.
Other times I grab a scrap piece of paper, a random sparkly pink gel pen, and start scribbling down a random angsty scene that invaded my brain and demanded to be written.
On rare occasions both happen on the same day, but there is no in between.

Something so amazing about being an artist is I can draw whatever I want, and that also means I can draw whatever my friends want.
A couple weeks ago, the DM for one of my DnD games asked if I'd be able to draw a piece for an upcoming moment in the campaign and I said absolutely.
It was unbelievably fun to draw, but also to sit there, knowing the moment was coming, and doubly so to witness the reactions of my fellow players (not just to the moment but my art also, I am, alas, a simple creature).
Anyways I wanted to share it so here it is:
The character in the middle is Vienna (I yapped a little about her in a post a bit ago) and either side of her are her dads who are supposed to be dead but, having been blessed by the shadows themselves, came back to protect her from a necromancer we were fighting. They beat said necromancer into the ground, had an emotional moment with their daughter, and proceeded to be just as confused as anyone as to how they were alive. Will they be sticking around? Who knows.
I love this game with all my heart ugggggggggggh
Having just written that insanely long post about my dnd character/s I feel the need to say that I am, in no shadow of a doubt, a note taker. Although, I do question if what I do can even be called taking notes. I write down every single thing that happens. I write the exchanges of dialogue. I take screenshots of combat maps on our VTT and put them in my document so I know where everyone is. I describe every single turn in an encounter.
My document for the first year of the campaign is uhh.
And the document for this year, so far is well on its way to being the same:
Am i crazy? Perhaps. But I love doing it and I shan't stop. When the campaign is over I just know I'm going to reread all my 'notes' and cry over them because oh how I adore this story.
Wondering about making a side blog where I can keep myself accountable while working on a WIP that I long to finish but really struggle to progress, especially recently.
It could be like a little diary, where I document what I've done for the day, even if it's the tiniest thing.
I'd like to give it a go, but I'm just not sure (I love this project to death but it also happens to bring out my worst doubts in writing). I mean, worst that happens is that it doesn't work out and I can delete it.
First though, I'd have to dredge up the courage to re-open the docs and actually get going again, and I've yet to do that. Soon, perhaps.
