𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | Bottomless brunch usually goes only one way; the drinks are bottomless but the food isn’t. I’ve also had the rare occasion where the food was bottomless but the drink wasn’t. @temperlondon are giving the people what they want and doing both the food and drink bottomless. 🍸 Every Saturday from 12 to 3:30pm at Temper City, £35 will get you a choice from mojitos, cosmos, margaritas, bloody Mary’s, wine, and beer. Let me tell you, the staff are so prompt that you literally never have an empty glass on the table. I must have got through 8 or more cosmos. The food is served as a platter, consisting of burgers, fried chicken, sausage, kimchi slaw, and fries. Once you’ve got through the first lot then you can ask for more of whatever you want. For me, I couldn’t get enough of the sausage (leave it). 🥩 I’m not sure if it was due to the bottomless nature and constant turning of tables due to brunch, but even though I enjoyed the food I didn’t think the experience matched having a meal at Temper at any other time of the day. It wasn’t bad, I’ll say this again, but for me this was more like the opportunity to drink a lot, accompanied by some nibbles, which is perfectly fine for me. If I want a true Temper food experience then I’ll go at another time. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | On the weekend I went down to @fugitive.motel to check out their brunch menu. Having launched 4 weeks ago now, this super cute 50s themed bar/restaurant has a breakfast pizza on the menu. Mozzarella, smoked bacon, free range eggs, parsley and cherry tomatoes, and apparently you can order a dippy egg to dunk your crust in, but I must have missed it on the menu 😩. There’s also a veggie version with avocado instead of bacon, or make it vegan with vegan cheese, or even gluten free. 🍕 There’s also some new “on toast” options, so we went for chorizo & beans. But now looking back I see there’s sardines & tomato, which I would have LOVED, but again failed to see. What was wrong with me on Saturday? Ffs. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | For once I actually visited @boxparkwembley when there wasn’t an event on in the stadium. On previous occasions I hadn’t checked and got a lovely surprise of around 1000 rival football fans filing every space of Boxpark. ⚽️ This time I was down there to see @smokyboys, bringing bbq food to their 5th location, with a menu packing burgers, wings, hot dogs, and more. I really liked the hot dog, made from beef, and topped with jalapeños, ketchup and mustard. There’s a chilli dog available too. It’s a great size, and I always prefer a beef dog over pork.🌭 There’s a few burgers to choose from, but I went for the Smoky Beast. A double beef patty, with oak smoked turkey bacon, cheddar & American cheese, rocket, gherkins, grilled onions, and Smoky Boys sauce. The burger is tasty, the sauce is really nice, but the patties are a bit dense and not too juicy. I did find it a bit of a struggle to eat for this reason, so maybe a single patty would be better.
