Imagine its six months before the release of The Phantom Menace, and you go to the comic store to pick up the newly released **Star Wars 1998)**, and you discover that its about Ki-Adi Mundi (a character from the upcoming film), his five wives and many daughters, his desire for a son, and his disdain for the Republic's encroachment on his homeworld of Cerea.
What a weird book. These first six issues make it seem like the creative team has no idea what the Prequel era is going to look like. Ki-Adi Mundi is a Jedi Knight, but no mention of the Jedi Council on Coruscant is made until the fifth issue, and by all regards he seems to live on his homeworld of Cerea.
The Republic is looking to invite Cerea into the Republic, but Ki-Adi Mundi fears they'll turn his planet into a technological metropolis, like one of the already-built Republic settlements on Cerea.
I would feel so incredibly confused reading this and then going into the Phantom Menace. Why Ki-Adi Mundi? Why this plot? What is going on?
