I recently finished this experimental sculpture and I want to share it with you as a little horraaay to spring!

I'm really into combining wool with clay - combining different materials, textures and surfaces that contrast and compliment eachother. And I am excited to continue to develop this "net" technique I have been exploring. I have more ideas that need to come to life :}

This sculpture to me, is a hopeful sign of spring. The little yellow pops of sunshine, or little yellow flowers, or however you want to see them, suddenly appearing from the snow and the coldness. A reminder that life persists and good things will come.

How do you interpret this sculpture, if you want to share I am very curious!

Today is also valborg (short for valborgsmässoafton), here in Sweden it is basically a celebration of spring where we light bonfires. Please tell me how you celebrate spring where you live?

NEW VIDEO: I stumbled upon a new way to add the feathers to the chickens. I was carving them into the clay previously. In this new approach, I am smooshing the feathers into the body of the pot in a layer. I think this new design element is the start of a whole new era of chicken pots from me. I just love seeing how these develop over time.

NEW VIDEO: An overview and reflection on all of the work I made in my Summer 2022 throwing class at the @Creative Arts Center Dallas . My main goal this session was to make myself a dinner ware set. I also learned how to throw coffee pour overs on the wheel. This session, I also participated in a mica and horse hair raku firing. I hope you enjoy joining me on my ceramic journey.
