🌿It somehow turned out rather unfair that this blog has overlooked such a tree as the Mediterranean cypress (lat. Cupressus sempervirens). It can grow up to 20–30 meters tall and live for as long as 800 years.
For many people, cypresses are probably associated with Greece and Italy, and one immediately imagines long avenues of tall green candles☺️ Yet you may also encounter cypress while visiting the Ancient Egypt section in a museum, since it was often used to carve sarcophagi, in recognition of the wood’s strength, its resistance to decay, and the pleasant fragrance of its essential oils🏺
🌿Как-то некрасиво вышло, что этот блог обошел вниманием такое дерево, как кипарис вечнозелёный (лат. Cupressus sempervirens).
Film People Not Currently Listed On The Nonagenarians and Centenarians Website
I am a regular visitor to the website titled Nonagenarians and Centenarians (genarians.com). It contains the names of famous people of all walks of life who are over the age of 90. Outside of the usual legends, there are names of lesser-known film people that are missing from the website and rather than pester the webmaster to constantly update the site, I'd like to set up the list of people who I feel are integral in the world of film and entertainment in general born up to 1935, as the 1936 page is still underway. Even when seeing #MaryPoppinsReturns in theaters with my mom and some of her side of my family, Richard “Dick” Van Dyke proved that he’s still got it by tap dancing. My aunt was astounded. Happy 100th birthday and centenary, you acting, comedy, American, and global treasure! 💯🎂#DickVanDyke
With regard to a tag, do you think tagging centenarians would be relevant? It's already a big deal for us to see queer elders, but seeing people live to a hundred or more is like, wow! Edward Field post made me think of that.
Hmm possibly but there are so few people who make it past 100 that i'm not sure if it's worth it? I will make a poll.
Should this blog tag LGBT+ centenarians (those alive over 100)?

How the hell do British royals live so long? There's more unique DNA in a petri dish of pond scum than in their entire gene pool, yet the queen's mom lived to be 101, her double cousin/husband lived to be 99, and she lived to be 96, so does inbreeding make you immortal?!? I know it's because they're wealthier than God and have the best healthcare in human history, but still you'd think the defects would slow them down a bit.
Hunting Horse Relating Stories to Boy Scouts on his 106th Birthday, 3/3/1951
Hunting Horse (Tsain-Taunkee, of the Kiowa Tribe) was a member of the original Indian Scout Detachment at Fort Sill in 1875.
Series: Photographs of American Military Activities, ca. 1918 - ca. 1981
Record Group 111: Records of the Office of the Chief Signal Officer, 1860 - 1985
Image description: Hunting Horse, a very old Kiowa man, tells stories to young boys wearing Boy Scout uniforms. He has his eyes closed and he is gesturing with his hands. He wears a late 1800s-style Army uniform jacket and has a striped blanket on his lap.
September 22nd is...
American Businesswomen’s Day - Honors the accomplishments of the businesswomen across the nation. Take a moment to reflect on the contributions and achievements of the millions of women in the workforce. Also, consider the impact of millions of women business owners in the U.S.
Autumnal Equinox - It is observed annually when the sun can be seen directly overhead along the equator. The day marks the end of summer and beginning of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. The autumn equinox is one of two days when all points on Earth except the polar regions see the sunrise and set at due east and due west. With few exceptions, all latitudes see almost precisely 12 hours of daylight and 12 of darkness.
Car Free Day - Encourages motorists around the world to give up their vehicles for a day.
Centenarian’s Day - Honors those who’ve celebrated 100 birthdays or more. Initially, the day urged people to listen to the stories centenarians had to tell. Their rich history and wisdom offered a wealth of information. As the celebration spread, groups formed to honor centenarians in various ways. Often, listening to their life stories proves the age-old saying that with age comes wisdom.
Dear Diary Day - Also known as journaling, studies have shown expressing our thoughts in a written form every day reduces anxiety and stress. It also broadens our vocabulary and language skills.
Elephant Appreciation Day - These captivating and social animals live between 60 to 70 years. Like humans, elephants develop remarkably close family bonds. Two species, the African Savannah and Asian elephant, exist.
Girls’ Night - Encourages women to gather with their best girlfriends for a night in to relax, recharge, and foster meaningful connections. Of course, there are many ways to celebrate a Girls’ Night. Whether you stay in or go out, the night invites women to reconnect and celebrate life together.
Hobbit Day - Celebrate the birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. The novels The Hobbit and the trilogy The Lord of the Rings trilogy written by J.R.R. Tolkien, bring to life the world of Middle-Earth. According to the stories, Bilbo and Frodo were born during the Third Age in the years 2890 and 2968 respectively. Translated to Shire-reckoning, Bilbo was born in 1290 and Frodo in 1368.
Ice Cream Cone Day - In the United States, ice cream cones first became popular in the late 1800s. Confectioners turned the first cones by hand. The ice cream cone made its debut at the World’s Fair in St. Louis in 1904. In 1912, an inventor from Oregon obtained a patent for a machine to make them. He sold his company to Nabisco in 1928, and they still make ice cream cones today.

Legwear Day - Legwear offers some of the most important ways to express personal style. From sheers and tights to leggings and anklets, even men’s, women’s, and kids’ socks complete a look. The Queen of England was presented with her first pair of stockings in 1598. Now, women choose from numerous types of legwear.
White Chocolate Day - Since white chocolate does not contain cocoa solids, it is not chocolate in the strictest sense. During the process of manufacturing chocolate, the dark-colored solids of the cocoa bean separates from the fatty content. But unlike milk or dark chocolate, the solids are not reincorporated. As a result, white chocolate also does not contain as much caffeine or antioxidants as its darker counterparts.
World Narcolepsy Day - Narcolepsy is known as a sleep disorder. However, narcolepsy is also considered a chronic neurological condition. For those who have narcolepsy, the brain cannot regulate their sleep-wake cycle. This condition affects 3 million people around the world. This number does not include the many who are undiagnosed. For some, it takes up to 15 years to be properly diagnosed with narcolepsy.
World Rhino Day - At one time, rhinos were found throughout Eurasia and Africa. In the early 20th century, about 500,000 rhinos roamed the earth. Today, rhinos have a hard time surviving outside national parks and reserves. The Javan and Sumatran rhinos in Asia are critically endangered. There are only about 58 to 68 Javan rhinos in the world. In 2011, a subspecies of the Javan rhino was declared extinct. Today, only 80 Sumatran rhinos remain.
