Many a person had said they’d be there

Standing beside me in the fight

But when the day was done

My shadow was the only one beside me thru the torments of the night

Old friends said they’d walk besides me

Threw heaven and hell alike

But not only did they abandoned me

They pushed me into the fight

From day to day and fight to fight

Torments in and out alike

And the only one who stands beside me

Has never been touched by light

Even if you think that i’m not doing all that I can

I’m giving it all that i am

But sun does not shine to well

In cold unending winters night

So forgive me if I don’t give you credit

For things that you only thought that you did

As much as you think of yourself as the calvary in this fight

You barely helped with the pain

That i allowed to be in plain sight

When your shadow is the only one who stands beside you

Threw the terrors of the night

You may not lose your fear of the dark

But you certainly stop

Waiting for backup in the fight
