“Okay, robert pattinson, dev patel, y/n l/n, and a YOUNG al pacino,” shayne listed with emphasis on each name. “shayne guesses” had become such a successful series that they simply started throwing out ideas for the next part. celebrity crushes happened to be the LEAST criminal of suggestions.

“robert pattinson could show up a lot, thats another one that i could have guessed,” shayne stated, already coming up with an idea of who this was, “And y/n l/n, i heard- oh! they just did that new ghost buster movie with the stranger things kid, right?”

“pfff- the stranger things kid?” spencer questioned.

“whatever dude. But yeah,” shayne took a pause, “i respect this.” his chin breifly fell into his hands. “robert pattinson and dev patel feel very sterio-typical. like, this is a person in their twenties. And al pacino is kind of, wanting to be a little unique.”

shayne sighed into a smile, “and, if we didnt have y/n l/n, i would have thrown out erin dougal, cause i know they love robert pattinson, and have a background with film when it comes to young-al pacino but this is clearly angela,” he claimed while he crossed her name off his little list.

spencer laughed as the green screen pulled up a picture of angela. shayne nodded with a knowing expression on his face.

“yeah i cant say im surprised. i mean, if y/n l/n wasnt on her list, id be shocked. i mean angela’s gone to how many of their shows? cause they’re mostly a music artist right?” shayne asked, looking off camera to the production team.

spencer’s voice carried to the mic, “yeah…” he started off hesitantly, “yeah i think so. cause this ghostbusters movie is like their first ‘big’ acting gig,” spencer claimed.

shayne grinned a little as spencer spoke, before turning back to the camera, “well hey. maybe we’ll see them on the chanel someday. ok next!”

laughing as he looked back to the monitor, shayne smiled as he started, “ok, ok. SOLID, wow, okay,” he said, taking in the new list of crushes. “so we have ryan gosling- who i thought, would have shown up more by now. um, we have la-lisa?”

“yeah,” spencer chimed in from behind the camera.

shayne looked over, “what are they from?”

“blackpink,” spences said with no hesitation.

“blackpink? Ok. another k-pop idle on here, and uh rhea ripley from the WWE,” shayne states with concentration in his face. “And y/n l/n. Fun fact, i had no clue what they looked like until right now.”

“bro- they’re so, just-like… they’re the perfect mix of conventionally and unconventionally attractive its crazy, and dont even get me started on their voice bro. the new album they just released, ‘Light as a Feather’ is so perfect for their style, and the music videos go so hard! y/n MUST have gone to film school or at least had a great production team because the way they use symbolism in their songs and music videos-,” spencer shared in a passionate, excited voice, starting to laugh near the end as the crew went wild.

the second spencer had started stuttering out his little speach, shayne was laughing.

with tears in his eyes, shayne asked, “so this is you? dudeeeee. you know, we have just the luck that they’re somehow gunna see this,”

“duuuuuude,” spencer dragged, “i will literally find a time machine and jump into the billionaire-death-submarine if they see this.”

people exploded with laughter as the green screen now showcased a picture of spencer. shayne only mangaged a strangled, “oh my god” before he too was taken over by laughter.

then-, cut to their “some difficulties” screen.

“alllllright guys,” shayne said, slightly panting, finally pulling it together after his barrage of giggles. “so this is spencer! i mean this was sort of given to me, i looked over at him and he cracked under the pressure-,” shayne almost started laughing again, face turning red but being able to keep it in after a pause, “so everyone, those are spencer’s celebrity crushes. and guys lets make sure y/n l/n sees this.”

the office laughed once more before they were on to the other lists.

“i was just like, guitar->josh,” shayne explained to the crew as they laughed in the back, “-stupid. javier bardem, y/n l/n, tommy lee jones, uhh, and a turkish actor,” shayne listed as spencer explained who the last celebrity was.

shayne checked amanda’s name off his list as he confirmed, “wow, this is amanda. this is amanda. tommy lee jones alone and javier bardem. the complete opposite of selina. amanda’s like, ‘are they 70?’” shayne joked. “I am a little surprised that y/n l/n is on there? they’re a tv actor, no?”

The screen changed to show amanda, as spencer chimed in, “yeah, they are. so, uhhhh, when i asked amanda about it cause i was also curious,” he paused, seemingly showing shayne an image as shayne leaned out of frame, “she said it was because of this, kinda flop, horror-tv-series they did in 2015(?). but y/n l/n plays a horror movie actor, who is actually a serial killer and they dont know it.”

“ oh? that actually seems kinda promising,” shayne commented.

“yeah! and basically whenever they put on a costume, they become that person. they did psycho, ghostface; but theres this whole character arc where they turn into javier bardem,” spencer explained (he had spent the last couple nights watching deep dives about the show, so he had an arsenal of facts).

“wait, that seems sick. how have i never heard of this?” shayne questioned.

spencer sighed, “its called ‘Method Actor’. and it is a great plot line, but y/n l/n is the only good actor in it. it’s literally crazy.” shayne started laughing but spencer continued, “no im serious! the main character has, like, an A-list-actor level performance, while literally every other character is like that one theater kid who sings too fast.”

tears were coming down shayne’s red face as he cooled down from his laughter. “and amanda’s into that?” he asked with a smile.

“i mean, she was desperate enough to send me an entourage of tiktok edits,” spencer responded.

“ughhhh, thats too good. well, that was amanda, whats next.”

pressing the button, to continue in the slide show, shayne started talking, “ alright next up, we have! y/n l/n, florence pugh, donald glover, and shayne topp.”

“that’s awkward dude,” spencer chimed in.

“thats weirdddd,” shayne continued, “i thought you said no YouTubers man!”

the laughter only increased as spencer replied with, “i- look. hes in the goldbergs.”

“okay.” shayne looked to his notes as he explained, “i think this is courney, uhh because of y/n l/n, and florence pugh.” people laughed as he marked his partner off the small list in his hands.

spencer spoke up with, “is this their first appearance?”

“this is the first y/n l/n appearance which is crazy to me. i think it just kinda- you know who also hasn’t appeared is margot robbie,” “yeah” “and i think its just like,” “some people are just too pretty” “some people, its just like, yeah for sure. it kinda like Meryl streep at the oscars, where its like, yeah, for sure, you’re the best actress. like what ever,” “shayne paused looking to his hands, “yeah its courtney. um, no. truthfully whenever florence pugh is onscreen, courtney turns into the wolf from the looney toons cartoons. and whenever y/n gets refrenced, we both just are, ARUHR RUHR RUH RUHR RUH-“

“just start barkin’” spencer claimed as shayne shook from the barks.

“there it is!” shayne shouted as the screen revealed his wife, “but yeah, me and courtney always joke about how if we ever met y/n, we would ask them to become our third.”

“bro! we need them on the channel,” spencer said, eyes wide and mischievous, “we could do a live stream where you and court just go with different character combos and try flirting with them. see which one works.”

laughter filled the studio as shayne’s cheeks gained a little color. that which he soon brushed off as he too started laughing.

“And finally,” declared shayne, “we have anne hathaway, anya taylor-joy, hayley williams, and y/n l/n. huh, okay.”

“do you think you would have been able to get that?” spencer asked, the only person left, now being damien.

“i dont know if i would have guessed damien from this,” shayne replied truthfully, a tone of surprise in his words.

spencer replied steadily, “i would have known with the hayley williams but i dont know about the other two.”

“the hayley williams make the most sense,” he paused, the look on his face indicating that he was trying to recollect a memory, “you know? yeah, damien and i talk about a lot of things but i dont feel like we ever talked about celebrities we thought were, attractive or our ‘celebrity crushes’. it just didnt come up that often. but the y/n l/n and hayley williams are ones that im, like-, that i picture. y/n l/n for sure.”

shayne then asked, “you can cut this but i think damien has actually met them, right? he interviewed them?”

“yeah and then that was all he talked about for a week,” spencer said with a laugh.

“riiiiiight,” shayne scoffed, “well hey! i got lucky, cause i get to continue my 100% guessing damien correct, cause he was the last one here.”

It was now winter in New York, the breeze was getting too cold, the traffic somehow became far too unbearable, and Joe and Gaten were getting too loud. The three boys were doing their usual ❛ Boys' night ❜ in Gaten's manhattan apartment. Their boys' nights are always filled with endless film theories, music production, food, and often deep talks that sometimes ends with them crying in each other's arms that every so often diverts Finn's mind from his relationship with his ex, who's now a famous r&b sensation around the world however this night was different when he's holding a polaroid with him and (Y/n) posing during winter infront of his childhood home in Canada.

❝ Nah, all im saying man is that the Adam Sandler's cinematic universe is too important in 00's to 2010's but— umm hello earth to Finn...❞ Gaten shook his hand in front of the curly haired boy whose eyes are preoccupied by a certain photograph ❝ what are you even—ohhhhh ❞ Gaten continued now holding a mischievous smile while his eyebrows wiggled at the boy who's looking at him who's weirded out by his antics

❝ dude why are you looking at me like that—oh no! no no no ❞ Finn denied while his eyes were so wide as if he was caught doing something he shouldn't have ❝ oh yes yes yes! You know you could always call her, Finn ❞ Gaten tossed his phone to Finn with (Y/n)'s phone number displayed on the screen ❝ There's no harm in asking how she is, me and sadie do that to her everytime and I know you could do it since you guys ended peacefully—hopefully. ❞

❝ Why do you sound so unsure—Its different—we're different now Gaten, yes you guys could do that but you guy weren't the one who she had use as her subject in a well known heartbreak album! ❞ Finn defended himself talking so fast as if he was grappling something that he doesn't want to let go of ❝ Finn's right, Gaten, he shouldn't—you know? The humid New York City air clung to (Y/n)’s skin, making her regret the heavy vintage leather jacket she’d chosen for the shoot. She stood on a cracked sidewalk in Soho, surrounded by production assistants running around with clipboards and reflectors.

She still wasn't 100% sure why she’d said yes. Her manager had pitched it since Tyler's bag was bigger than she ever thought and honestly, when Tyler, The Creator calls your phone personally, you don't exactly send him to voicemail. But deep down, she knew the ❛ once in a lifetime ❜ excuse was a cover for the knot in her stomach.

❝Yo, (Y/n)! You look sick, for real,❞ a raspy, familiar voice boomed.

Tyler hopped off a gear crate, wearing a massive ushanka hat despite the heat and a neon green vest. He grinned, looking her up and down with that chaotic energy he always carried.

❝ Glad you came, you look good, New York had been really taking care of you huh? ❞ The older singer continued as he spun around (Y/n), the two had been close since they met in a pub last August.

❝ Trust me, New York isn't at fault here, ❞ (Y/n) joked, though her eyes kept scanning the crowd.

❝ Right, right. Big-time star, ❞ Tyler teased, then leaned in a bit, his grin turning slightly mischievous. ❝ Anyway, your co-star just hopped out of hair and makeup. I think you guys remember each other? ❞

(Y/n)’s heart did a weird, uncomfortable thud.

And then she saw him.

Walking through the maze of C-stands and black cables was Finn. He looked different—older, sharper. His curls were a bit more controlled than they were two years ago, and he was wearing an oversized knit sweater that screamed 2000s aesthetic.

When his eyes landed on her, he actually tripped over a sandbag. He caught himself, his face flushing a deep pink that she remembered all too well; he hadn't changed, huh?

❝ Wait, ❞ Finn said, his voice dropping an octave as he reached them. ❝ Tyler, you didn't say— ❞

❝ I didn't say a lot of things. Visionaries keep secrets, ❞ Tyler interrupted, looking back and forth between them like he was watching a high-stakes tennis match. He knew exactly what he was doing.

It had been two years; Two years since the paparazzi had chased them out of every restaurant in L.A., and two years since (Y/n) had decided that loving him wasn't worth the price of her privacy. She’d traded the ❛ indie actor’s girlfriend ❜ label for a top 10 billboard debut album and many sold-out tours. She had moved on—or so she told herself every time one of his movie trailers popped up on her feed.

❝ Hey, ❞ Finn said, finally standing in front of her. He looked awkward, shoving his hands into his pockets. ❝ You look... really good, (Y/n). I heard the new single. It’s been on repeat. ❞

❝ Thanks, ❞ she replied, keeping her voice steady, professional. ❝ You’ve been busy too. I saw the horror flick. ❞

❝ Yeah. It was alright. ❞ Finn bit his lip, the silence between them heavy with everything they hadn't said since the breakup. The media had turned their split into a circus, but here, on a gritty NYC street, it felt strangely quiet.

Tyler clapped his hands together, shattering the tension. ❝ Okay, cool! Reunited and it feels so mid! Listen, the vibe for this scene is: you guys are exes who see each other across a crowded street and realize the spark is still there. Method acting, right? Should be easy. ❞

Tyler turned away to scream directions at the director of photography, leaving them standing there.

(Y/n) looked at Finn, noticing the small silver ring he still wore—the one she’d bought him at a flea market years ago. ❝ He’s doing this on purpose, ❞ she whispered.

Finn let out a short, breathy laugh. ❝ Standard Tyler. Are you... are you gonna be okay doing this? I can tell him to recast if it’s too weird. ❞

(Y/n) adjusted her jacket, looking him dead in the eye with a confidence she’d spent two years building. ❝ You're joking right? It's just a music video, Finn—I can handle a few takes. ❞

❝ Right, ❞ Finn nodded, though he looked a little more shaken than she was. ❝ Just a video. ❞

I know when that hotline bling that can only mean one thing.

She didn't know why she called him again, maybe because the alcohol is finally doing its thing, maybe the cold night was affecting her so much that she needed company or maybe it was because her feelings are now resurfacing but she firmly believes its just the alcohol talking.

❝ Didn't think you would answer ❞ Her voice was slurred as she looked up from the pavement where she is sitting on. It was now 2 a.m. on a friday and she's outside of the club she had just partied with some friends who she knew would go home much later than she would and unfortunately, her body couldn't go much any longer.

❝ Didn't think you would call ❞ the taller boy helped her get up by offering his hands as he adjusted her fur coat, ❝ You look like you need some company ❞ He continued as he helped her go to his car, his arm tightening around her hips balancing her.

He was always like this; Mr. One call Away, she hated that he was still like this. (Y/n) remembered moments where he would go places to places just for her: One time where she was in Boston and needed some company for her college errands and she didn't know anyone there so she called him wanting to just talk to him about it but a few minutes later after she told him, he had sent her a plane ticket, it was worth to note that he was in California during that time to film stranger things, the day after, a knock came to her door and it was him smiling down at her.

The other time was when she was at the hospital due to excessive stress and exhaustion, she told him it was fine since he was in Europe but the morning after she saw him—their finger interwined—him fast asleep in the chair beside her hospital bed—and bouquet of lilies sitting on the table infront of her.

Now, she is now back at that same position she never thought she would see—her sitting in his passenger seat—windows down—Frank Ocean playing on his aux—and him smiling at her.

❝ Good to have you back ❞ Finn looked at her during a red light ❝ Plans to stay the night? For old time's sake? ❞ he continued ❝ we'll see, Wolfhard. ❞

The morning after, she woke up on his air bnb, light shining on her face like a wake up call, she stood up from his bed and walked outside of the room and she saw him sleeping on the sofa. ❝ this is nothing more, Wolfhard ❞ she told him as he threw a pillow on his face to wake him up ❝ yeah, I think being friends is much favorable for us ❞

You laid cuddled against Pedri’s chest on his couch. Something that became regular over the last year. Your comfort person. The one you could tell anything at anytime.

You clicked instantly when meeting at an afterpary after last year’s el clásico. Everyone knows the way Madrid has been humiliated.

Your ex, at that time still boyfriend, was obviously mad. It didn’t help that the Barca fans and specifically Gavi constantly reminded him of his Ballon d’Or loss. You were supporting him all season and at the end? Nothing. He was more than mad and you being Theres didn’t help.

You thought it was just a phase. Everyone has bad moments. Nothing major. Don’t make a big deal out of it. It’ll go way. At least you thought so. But you were wrong.

He didn’t apologise the nights at home for his behaviour towards literally everyone. Nor did he apologise for the way he had treated you. He didn’t even apologise after being caught cheating. There was no love anymore. Only constantly hatred. You tried everything to support him. Trough thick and thin. But he never showed it back. Hell he didn’t even appreciate it. He even humiliated you infront of his teammates just for him to stand in a better light.

And even though you were almost as famous as him. Having many fans. Many people who defend your back. They all wondered why you'd still be together with him.

His behaviour disgusted you. It even reached the point where you deleted all your socials. Telling your agency to post the most important campaigns.

The signs from Vini on the other hand were clear. No love. But as the fool you were, you didn’t know hot to end it.

So after Madrid lost, Vini decided to put all fault on you, you decided to ignore him. You went to an afterparty. Not expecting much, just drinking your thoughts away.

Instead your thoughts were taken away by a certain brunette midfielder of the opposite team. So a day later when being back at your boyfriends hotel room he gave you the last straw to end things with him completely.

To say he threw a tantrum was an understatement.

Either way you were living your best life. Studying in Barcelona has always been a dream. And now in company of your boyfriend by one year you couldn’t imagine it any other way.

Of course the fans eventually noticed your and Pedri’s relationship. The both of you’d have never expected it but they actually welcomed you into the Barca family. So did the other wags. Everyone except the madristas had enough human comprehension to understand the situation Vini had put you in and totally supported you in your new relationship.

Everyone except the madristas of course. If it was for any player. Literally anyone they wouldn’t have given a shit. But no. You were together with Pedri. Barcelona’s Pedri.

Vini didn’t let that fact go. He did and still does anything to make your life hell. Drag you into dirt even though you hadn’t had contact in the last year. It was pathetic really. And Pedri didn’t let that slide.

So here here you were. On his couch watching Madrid win by another controversial penalty.

„I’ve always been aware of Madrid being favoured by refs but witnessing it from the outside. It’s even more obvious. How’s this even possible?“ you questioned, looking up from Pedri’s chest to catch his beautiful dark brown eyes. „I know, it’s crazy right? Unbelievable how the Confederation doesn’t operate in that case,“ he shook his head unbelievably.

„That just sounded way to professional,“ you smiled up at him. His mouth catching a similar smile while shaking his head lightly. „It was hot,“ you whispered up to him, his mouth now cracking a real smile, his eyes glistering. „You think so?“

„Hmmhm,“ was all you got out of you mouth while joining it with Pedri’s. A light tender kiss. His hand on your jaw brushing his thumb against your cheek, while yours found it’s way to his soft curls. You began tugging at them the way you know drives Pedri crazy.

Your actions caused him to release a short groan. Using the moment of his parted lips you interwinded your tongues, letting them dance to the rhythm of your kissing.

You began sitting up slowly. Each knee next to Pedri’s, basically grinding him. His other hand found your waist while yours rested on his shirt. Squeezing the material occasionally.

The kiss got even more heated. Both of you releasing moans and groans. Your hand wandered under the nape of his shirt tracing his abs like you did the very first time.

You were about to take it off when a too familiar annoying voice filled the living room trough the TV. A groan escaped your lips, your hands withdrawn from Pedri’s abs back to fisting his shirt on his chest. Your head slumping onto his shoulder.

„He always has to interrupt everything,“ you complained, voice muffled by Pedri’s shoulder. His hand wandered from your wais to the back of your head smoothing your hair with his fingers.

„No worries cariño, I’ll turn it off.“

You nodded against his shoulder, even though he couldn’t see it you were sure he’d be able to feel it. „Gracias,“ you murmured into the side of his head. You felt Pedri reach for the remote, but the voice didn’t stop.

Slowly you lifted your head, turning to the always complaining whiny voice. That’s when you realised why Pedri hasn’t turned it off.

He was talking about you.

Bad.

It wasn’t new that he complained about you. You didn’t even care at this point anymore. Most of the fans, literally anyone investigated in football knew how bad of a boyfriend Vini was. Your family and friend supported you. But never has he talked on such a low level about you.

One could think they’ve lost and he wanted to make you responsible for it. But they won. There was no reason to say such words about you. Not live. Not ever.

Now too investigated after hearing your name you tried to focus on his words just as much as Pedri did. You glanced at him for a second. His hand still resting on your thigh while the other clutched the remote so hard you’d think it might shatter into pieces. His jaw was tight. Eyes too focused on the man on tv infront of him.

„You’ve missed a penalty agains Rayo last year. What was decisive today for you score this one?“ the reporter behind the camera asked professionally. He was surely hinting about tactics, teammates and the new coach. But of course, the Brazilian had to make it all about him and in this case you again.

„I just feel way lighter to be honest. Last year was really stressful, not only about the sport generally but with my ex girlfriend it was hard to focus. She was the main reason for my poor performance. It was distracting all the time. Coming home from intense matches or training and not being able to rest at home is a real challenge. Especially when playing for the best club in the world. Your performance needs to be consistent, and with her by my side nothing was consistent. The only thing was her complaining about the most unnecessary things all the time. I’m more than relieved I parted with her. It made me a better player. And I hope I’ll be able to help the team secure the title this year.“

Ths interview ended, switching to the game’s highlights, leaving you with your mouth open, and Pedri with a jaw ready to burst.

„I- I mean- that’s not even- he’s talking fucking shit! How dared he say such phony things about me!“ you were standing at that point unable to believe how low he’d go with his excuses of bad performances. „Hes just a fucking bad player. Joder, can’t he’s see how bad he is? His ego needs to be studied, damn it!“ You were pacing the living room. Wanting to punch the TV.

Pedri stood to, embracing you into a tight hug. His jaw still set, his eyes as furried as never. Full of rage. And still, he was all calm and composed for you. Something your ex never was. Everything always had to be about him.

„I fucking hate him,“ you clutched Pedris back, voice muffled by his shoulder. „I’m sick of this. Can’t he just let me be. Move fucking on,“ your voice stained with a plea, exhausted by Vini’s childishness.

„Lo sé amor. Lo sé,“ he craddled your hair, smoothing the other hand over your back, offering comfort.

„I’m tired of his shit. Really,“ your voice carried an unmistakable amount of shattering at the end. His arms tightened around your body. He rocked the both of you from one side to another whispering sweet nothings into your hair, gliding his fingers through it.

You weren’t crying, not exactly. Just overrun by exhaustion. It was always the same with him. Even when you were together. He made you question yourself way too many times. Made you down. Letting you feel like you’re not enough. Like he’d could have anyone and you should be grateful he’s still with you. He tricked you. Shattered your mind. Manipulated you into thinking you would have to proof yourself every. single. time.

Pedri was never like this. He catched early that Vini manipulated you. But he showed you the good sides of a relationship. The love from both sides.

With him, you’ve never even dared to question yourself. Pedri was simply perfect. He never made you responsible for any of his problems. Never a burden. Never an obstacle. Never. ever. a distraction.

With Pedri you could embrace yourself the way you wanted. And he’d always love you.

In the beginning it was hard to trust him. Not because he did anything wrong. Hell, he was perfect. But because you had build your walls. Didn’t want to show a vulnerable side. Not wanting to appear weak in front of him.

But he made it easy. Easy to let your walls down. Easy to let yourself get carried away by his charm. Easy to let yourself feel loved in ways you’ve never experienced.

You were always convinced in relationships being something unavoidable. Something like a requirement. Everyone was supposed to be in a relationship. You never assumed love would find you that way. That it was just a part of live you had to experience. Not a will but a condition.

But all of these thoughts shattered when Pedri declared his love for you. When you realised you loved him too. Real love this time.

And his love has never failed you before.

So now, him carrying you to bed, tugging you in and cuddling together made you ask yourself how the fuck you’d be able to question him in the beginning.

Before you totally dozed off on the Canary’s chest you heard him whisper in the lightest volume „Next time I’m playing that bastard I’ll punch him so hard he won’t be able to continue, I swear,“ he spoke so soft you almost didn’t catch it. Almost. And your chest filled with pride, love, appreciation and so much more you couldn’t name.

The next morning light crept in slowly through the blinds illuminating the room in a deep orange.

First thing to notice was the cold beside you. No hands around your wais. No hair brushing your neck. No Pedri.

You still reached over the empty side of the bed to find, not Pedri, but a letter.

The clock said 11, late for your usual routine but today you just didn’t feel like it. You grabbed your phone, propped up the pillow and decided to scroll a bit on social media.

Clicking it you were shown an ugly picture of yesterday interview of Vini. You questioned why he’d post it until you read the text he provided below.

Talk is cheap. Better work on your own performance before dragging other people into the picture to make responsible for the mess you created by yourself. Grow up.

Your mind was unable to comprehend. Pedri just posted a story defending you. For you. So many questions piled up in the back of your head until the obvious solution popped up. He loves you. Of course he’d do something like this. Your chest clenched, you could feel a few tears rolling down your cheeks.

What on earth did you do to deserve him?

He was so fucking perfect. It made you want to combust.

The fans had already started defending you and calling Vini out since yesterday’s interview. Now that Pedri had posted the story they went more than crazy.

You weren’t one to watch videos of yourself but seeing them support you and appreciate Pedri as much as you do made you scroll a lot more on social media than usual.

Everything was professional, focused on performance and formalities. Until one journalist had to bring up the interview. Your heart fell into your stomach. You had no reason to be afraid of anything with Pedri but the mention Vini’s name alway made you get goosebumps.

„I’d like to ask about yesterday‘s interview from Vinicius Jr. I’ve seen you already posted it on your story. Would you like to classify your response regarding Vini’s accusations of your girlfriend?“ the journalist asked calmly with an urging under tone, leaving no room for actually denying to answer.

Pedri nodded the way he always did when listening to journalist. And if it wasn’t for the question, you’d say it was cute.

„Bueno, as you said I already posted it on my story. I’m no friend of arguments or beef. Especially not online in front of millions but I’m also having my friends and families back. If I hate one thing, then it’s lying. My family and friends, including my girlfriend, can always count on me even if I have to cross borders I normally wouldn’t want too. Regarding the interview, I’m sure not me nor my girlfriend are the only ones catching his lies. The only ones believing them are the ones in white. Es verdad. I am more than convinced it’s time for him to stop lying. And I’m trying to stay professional here but trying to justify your poor performance with accusing people who aren’t involved in any ways is not just pathetic it’s sad. I don’t want to go into detail, but she’s always supported him. He was just too blind to see and appreciate it. The most of us know how he treated her when they were together. If you need details you already know where to find them. And it‘s a clear sign if one denies them all and makes up own stories to justify their actions. I want you think about it, and then choose which side to be one. Just don’t let yourself get influenced by liars. I hope that clears it up.“

He spoke into the camera with a calm he usually carries on the pitch. If it wasn’t for the message he was trying to permit, it was fucking hot. But it was exactly the massage that got your eyes tearing up again.

You were so fucking lucky.

So lucky.

You didn’t even realise the tears falling down your cheeks until you automatically swiped them away with the sleeve of Pedri’s last season’s Barca hoodie.

The last thing you were able to see was Hansi patting his shoulder before the press conference ended. And even after that you were left with tears forming in yours eyes. Once again the feeling of love made your chest swell until it wanted to combust into million little pieces.

Reality didn’t set in until the front door opened and the familiar „cariño I’m home,“ echoes trough the house. Pedri carried himself like he didn’t just basically declared his love for you infront of millions.

His smile vanished though as soon as he saw your tears stained face with red and puffy eyes. Instantly, within a matter of seconds he was next to you on the couch holding your hands in his.

„Amor qué pasó?“ he stroke your cheek with his thumb. You laughed half-hearted not really being able to describe what you’re feeling. Shaking your head you answered „Nada, solo- solo the amo,“ before hugging him as close as possible. Head hiding in the side of his neck. Small sniffles escaping your mouth while he craddled your back the same way he did yesterday.

„Okay, I love you too,“ he softly answered resting his head on the back of your shoulder in return. You stayed like that for a while before moving to bed. You cuddled agains his side. His arm wrapped securely oround you.

„Gracias,“ you whispered against his chest. „For what? Me loving you?“ you nodded, „i should thank you for being the amazing person I fell in love with,“ he murmured while kissing your head. „I mean it. Thank you, it was amazing. You are amazing.“

„It was nothing really,“ he denied playing with your hair. You tilted your head lookin him in his eyes, „don’t say that. It was not nothing. It means more to me than you can imagine.“

His eyes growing bigger, the familiar sparkle appearing in them. „I love you. I love you so fucking much,“ he tilted your chin up, brining your mouths together. „I love you even more. You can’t imagine,“ you murmured agains his lips. He kissed your forehead before you rested your head back on his chest.
