ok so right off the bat, i enjoy that the bottom of it has two tabs, the top row being; home, chat, switch, journal, insight. the bottom being; members, polls, settings
it also has a system name as an optional thing, which is useful for those who don't have a system name i think..
unfortunately for Plural Log, it doesn't look like you can import from your SP?
i tried with my SP file, it said the members were uploaded, however none appearedβthis may be an issue with the amount i tried to import, which was in the 100's, so keep that in mind for larger systems.
Profiles
something i REALLY enjoy is that it lets you add sub-systems, which is extremely useful
and they show up under the subsystem host, indented
though something that confuses me is the ability to add a subsystem to a member already part of a subsystem...
how far can you go with this sub system ception? idk, i'm too scared to test it...
for me, a complete profile looks like this
(p.s. i'm not sure how to keep the image from cutting off like that)
Custom fields
you can add custom fields with this little button up here (and the plus button to log an alter)
when creating a new custom field, you get these options
i want this to be known, text just means plan text, which also means you can't create a new row by typing in "return"/"enter", so i'd recommend just selecting markdown.
another thing to note is that once you select these setting and name the custom field, you cannot change it. you have to delete and create a new one which gave me a bit of trouble
Switches
when registering switches on the "switch" menu, you tap who's in main front, then hold down on those you want to add to co-front, then click the "log switch" button to log it
to just switch out one member without logging a whole new switch, you just tap the active switch and it opens a thing where you can update it
here's a reference of my current switch history while trying to figure this out
Journal
when making a journal entry, you select who's writing it, as well as how you're feeling when making it!!! unfortunately you can only select one member as the author, so i'd say maybe in the actual writing section, you note if this was co-written by anyone else
Chats
chats work basically the same as SP. you have your channels, and select whos talking when sending messages!
unfortunately it doesn't put those in front first on the list, so it's gonna be a hassle for larger systems trying to scroll to the right member
Polls
polls work the same on Plural Log as they do on SP
Insights
this just tells you how many switches you've had, how many system members, journal entries, and frequent fronters
Flaws?
- no social feature in the app, you need a separate app for that which is only available for android, so i cant say how well it works or how to even work it
- limited customization when it comes to like..the colors. there's only a select few to pick from
- no accessibility setting such as fonts and font sizes, or light / dark mode switching
Final Verdict
i'd say it's a good app for the basic functions. if you aren't big on customizing and having others have access to your alters profiles and just want a place to log your alters, then this is a perfect app as its offline. once the social app comes out for IOS, i'll to a review on that too to see how it works for me
We do not have the capacity for app development, publication, and management. This list is only meant to help those actually doing the work with ideas. What is put here should be considered our ideal conditions and not requirements.
We took inspiration from: Simply Plural, Lighthouse, Mood-Log, Discord.
This post is long. It's also a work in progress. Expect updates.
Discreet icon/logo and name.
Does not require internet connection to function. Along the same vein, files are stored locally (within the app + separate from the internet/cloud). Yes, this means no social feature. I propose that a social CDD app should be separate from one meant for medical information tracking, but still connectable for ease of access.
Developers are strictly anti "nontraumagenic".
Deleting profiles, groups, links, etc. requires a multi-click confirmation.
Images can be copied and saved. It drives us crazy that Simply Plural doesn't have an option for this unless the image is from a link.
A "dashboard" upon open. In no particular order, sections for: app tutorial/guide/walkthrough, "members" (should be renamed to "system"/"systems" or "main page"), symptom tracking, journals, "socials" (system communication/chat, polls, forums, life updates), "useful links", reminders, settings (overall information, app customizability, and accessibility), and "check" (announcements, to-do lists, important information).
Main Page/System(s) β ability to create groups, subgroups, sub-subgroups, etc. Ability to add new parts/"members". Button to track date + time, current fronter(s), emotion(s)/mood(s), and a note. Does not hold a front status the way Simply Plural does.
Groups + Subgroups β ability to make multiple subgroups as well as subgroups within subgroups (and beyond). Ability to name each group. Ability to add a picture, symbol, and/or emoji to represent the group/subgroup. Ability to add a description for groups/subgroups. Ability to add a color to represent group/subgroup profile. Ability to see amount of parts in a group. Ability to move groups.
Alters/Parts β Subsections include profile, information, message board, chat, personal, and options. Profile includes profile picture(s), pronouns, quick/general info, profile color, and groups. Information includes custom fields. Message board includes title, content, and part(s) writing. Chat includes 1-on-1 messages (and ability to customize names for the receiving parts). Personal includes part-specific journal (new entries log date + time automatically, then optional emotion(s)/mood(s), and symptom(s)), quick notes, reminders, and folder for pictures (and ability to create subgroups with titles, descriptions, and representative picture). Options includes part-specific notification settings, archival, ID, creation date, and delete button. Ability to tag other parts (via "@/___") in profiles.
Symptom Tracking β new entries automatically dated (day, month, year, time). Date can be edited. Ability to add and delete symptom options. Ability to select multiple symptoms. Ability to create groups for specific disorders/disabilities. Ability to group symptoms by associated disorder/disability. Ability to add one or more parts as the logger. Ability to add quick notes for each logged symptom. Ability to add a general note. Ability to find/filter entries by date, part(s), and symptom(s).
Journals (communal) β ability to create custom journals. Ability to make folders/subfolders for journals. Communal journal separate from folders and/or pinned in place. Ability to customize journal icon/cover. New entries automatically dated (day, month, year, time). Date can be edited. Ability to add one or more parts as the writer. Ability to add emotion/mood overview (inspired by Mood-Log). Ability to find/filter entries by date, mood, part, and contents (text).
Social ; Communication/Chat β set up similar to Discord in the sense that the user can make categories and channels. either set so all messages are listed on one side OR set to where the part sending a message has their messages on one side and all other parts' messages are on the opposite side. Chat customizability (colors, icons, message orientation) in settings but organization (moving categories and channels) within the chat section.
Social ; Polls β similar to Simply Plural. the user is able to create a title, description, vote options, and optional end date for each poll. user has the ability to restrict polls to certain groups/parts. parts have the ability to add a short comment explaining their choice.
Social ; Forums β similar to polls but without the voting function. user is able to create a title and description. user is able to restrict their forum to certain parts/groups. parts are able to comment on a forum and reply to other comments.
Social ; Life Updates β automatically dated (includes day, month, year, and time). Optional title and description, but one must be filled in in order to post it. Ability to add one or more parts as the poster(s) (including custom "parts"; e.g. "blurry", "unknown"). Ability to add pictures. Ability to filter/search posts by date, poster, attached media (via true or false), and contents (text).
Useful Links β should have pre-loaded links to developer's information (e.g. website, social media) as well as resources specifically for CDDs, dissociation, and trauma. This section should be customizable so the user can add and delete links as desired.
Reminders β user is able to set a title and small description. user can choose whether or not they want the reminder to repeat. repetitions can be hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or annually. the user is given a "custom repeat" option in which they can alter repetitions as needed. reminders can be linked to polls, to-do lists, and announcements.
Settings ; System Information β holds data about logged profiles, symptom tracking overview, front tracking overview, and any other information relevant to the system (especially information that could be useful to a therapist/psychologist).
Settings ; App Customization β offers various layout options. button shapes, app coloration, organization (e.g. alphabetization), "wallpapers", etc.
Settings ; Accessibility β self explanatory.
Check ; Announcements β user can create a title-only announcement. user can restrict this announcement to certain groups/parts.
Check ; To-Do Lists β self explanatory. user has the ability to check off completed items.
Check ; Important Information β self-reported system information, rules, external interpersonal relationships, passwords, anything deemed important for parts/alters to know. ability to separate this information via "custom fields".
If a system app is to have a social feature, it should follow the aforementioned chat rules.
ok so when i was registering my account i didn't realize there was a difference between username and system name so i ended up putting the same thing for both but that's okβ
EDIT;; apparently you can block users on here???? that's kinda cool actually. good if you have an ex or smth that won't stop spamming you with friend requests
Friends
VERY IMPORTANT CUZ IK PPL LIKE THIS. you can in fact add friends and edit privacy settings as to what they can and cant see in regards to folders, groups, and specific alters.
Fronting
like any other system app. fronting is seamless, you can add a main fronter and co fronters, and it also has a blurry/fuzzy option if you don't know whos in front
Member List
member list is basic, it lists your alters out, and can be alphabetical order if you want. a cool thing though is you can actually rearrange them in any order you want by holding down on the profile, it just very sensitive when dragged to the top or bottom of the screen.
Member Profiles
customization is very bare bones and i have no clue if there's any plans to add more, but it has the basics. this is what a complete profile looks like for us
(also plus for having a scale thing for the color picker instead of putting in the hex code)
the image at the bottom actually has multiple if you swipe, which is cool! i'm not sure if there's a limit to how many you can add, but it's like a gallery. this could be useful for face claims or just images the alter wishes to keep, what makes it better is that they don't use image links, it comes right from your camera roll. this is good for me because i get tired of copying links of images and uploading them to image link sites.
Folders
you can create folders, i personally use this for subsystems as it's easier. you can select colors for them and add members from within the folder. they're also stuck at the top of the screen no matter how far you scroll.
wanna know something cool...? you can add images to the folder as an icon. that's right.
LOOK HOW COOL THAT IS!!!
Groups
this is kinda like the subsystem feature in Plural Log where it's a collapsible thing in your member list, however i prefer folders bwcause setting it up can get complicated. it registers ALL the members under as in the group, so you need to put it all the way at the bottom to not throw off the count.
Tumblr won't let me upload the image so youll have to just use your imagination .
Posts / Social Media
a cool function is like twit note, but instagram. alters can create profiles with their own username and display name, and bio, and post images with captions.
other alters can also like and comment on these posts. it's a fun way to boost sys communication imo. one that's less scary looking
Relationships
you can create relationship charts, i haven't dabbled much in this function, so i only have one set up so it's kinda pathetic, but it's easy to navigate
Chats
so alters can have DM's with each other, or group chats with certain alters added. i think this is better for keeping things organized in terms of roles, protectors share a group chat, maybe frequent fronters have their own group chat...it's fun.
Customization
the app has customizable colors and boarders for profiles, however i believe these are pay walled? you get a 21 day free trial, however i have no intention of spending money on this app.
Polls
similar to SP
Reminders
also similar to SP, you can also add which alter made the reminder and decide if it repeats.
tumblr again wont let me upload an image so just use ur imagination
Cons
- Limited customization, and no custom fields
- Doesn't support some markdown other than italic and bold as far as i'm aware (you cannot combine the two)
- Cannot import data through a JSON file, only through SP token (which is bad because my SP is severely outdated & Plural Log has all the correct info)
- No accessibility fonts, but you can change the font size
- Transparent images do not work
Final Verdict
despite the limited customization, i actually really like this app. i enjoy that it allows you to map relationships AND the social media function. it works perfectly and you can add friends, and i honestly might start using this app.
i recommend it for anyone who isn't huge on the custom field thing but LOVES decorating with images
Android and IOS on Test Flight (So not officially released in the appstore)
Disclaimer : I won't be going over every single feature since this app has a lot, but I'll be going over the basic ones + ones that interest me personally.
Berry Tree has a bot as well with commands similar to PK, but not completely. Edits in the app sync with the bot as far as I'm aware.
Profiles
You can create a profile for both alters and your system, with similar decorative features. Something I've been looking for when it comes to apps is BANNERS!!! I love banners but it looked like only the Android apps had them so I'm glad Berry Tree does!
This is what my current system profile looks like
Super cool, right?!
Theres a thing on the edit page where you can add tags to describe your system (Like saying what kind of CDD you have, or other disorders you may have) as well as add an interaction status
This is what my alter profile in specific looks like (I changed the pfp since it used my real face and errr yeah. )
Tumblr, again, hates me. There is another image to go along with this but it says some shit like "We don't support this image format yet" fuck off it's a screenshot i know damn well you support it
You may ask... "Kiichi, what's with the pin emoji by your name?" Glad you asked! (Unless you didn't then whatever..) The app lets you pin alters to the top of the page to get them easier which can be helpful to make it easier to find frequent fronters faster.
It also pins the alters currently in front to the top.
Another neat thing is that you can add tags to alters as well! This can be things like interaction status, their source, role (Though there's already a preset slot for that), or just something funny. This comes in handy later with another feature!
Fronting
See this little button right here?
Clicking that will open a menu to add the alter to front, and what I like about this is that there's a lot of different preset fronting options, that you can also rename, change the color of, and even add an icon for!
These are the only ones I have right now, all of them were preset, I just changed the name... (Originally Fronting, Co-Fronting, Co-Conscious, Blurry, and Influencing)
Templates
You're able to create templates for when you make alters, it'd have those things preset so you don't have to worry about manually copy and pasting things which is pretty handy!! Especially when it comes to custom fields because I know some people hate copy and pasting over and over and over..The template sheet is just what filling out a normal alter is like, just without any actual info that pertains to an alter.
Relationships
You can create and map out relationships between alters, preset things like Siblings, Partners, Friends, Parent, and Mentor.
Wanna know something even cooler? You can have External relationships! This means you can make a profile for someone who is outside of your system, maybe a friend, and track an individual alters relationship with them!
Another neat thing is that if you have a system friended, you can create cross-system relationships to track relationships between your own alters and alters in other systems. This helps me a lot because of our alters with relationships in our boyfriends system, romantic or platonic (And Fax Machine who has like 50385939 kids).
Custom Fields
Custom fields work the same as every other app really, you can edit whether you want it to be a date, markdown, or plain text.
Library
When you upload images, they're saved into the library, which means you can delete them from your camera roll and they'd like, still be there? If you use an image, it's saved there until you delete it. Cool! You can also upload audio files but I've been getting errors trying it do unfortunately I can't give much on that >_>
Wellness Hub
This is a hub that contains a lot of different things, mostly games that you can use to help ground yourself
As well as block blast, sudoku, word search, and memory match.
Another function in the wellness hub, a "Who Am I?" quiz. This is what it sounds like, a quiz to help figure out who you are and where the tags come into play. It has a series of preset questions, like what pronouns you may use, how you feel, how old you feel, what your role is, and if any tags in specific resonate with you. By the end, it gives you a likely possibility along with a few others, but doesn't pressure you to pick one.
Customization
Berry Tree has a lot of customization options, with preset options and the option to make a custom one. Aha. I'm not that good with markdown, so I stick to plain things and preset markdown codes. You can edit individual alter profiles to be different colors, which is fun! Doll has a pink profile while mine is black and purple...It's interesting. (And if anyone wants to reblog with their profile to show off the customization, feel free to do so because I'm horrible at it)
Customization also has the option to create custom language for what you want to call your alters, fronting, subsystems...speaking of
Subsystems
You can create subsystems and give them a profile photo and banner, and a system tag (This will appear when you decide to proxy with the Berry Tree bot), as well as a bio.
When adding alters to a subsystem, you can also select who the "host" is (Berry Tree describes this as who speaks for the sub system)
Kewl right?
Chats / Polls
Both function the same as SP
Chats can create a category with different channels.
Journals
Journal entries can have names, be categorized into folders, habe your mood tracked, and have an alter tagged along with it.
Berry Tree also has a "How To" area so you can look through there for tutorials haha...
Sorry theres a LOT but this is like...the most important things to me functionality wise, so let's get to the summary...
Pros
- Wide range of customization by far
- Easy to navigate even if you don't want to customize
- Wellness hub!
Cons
- Customization can take a while to learn but hey gotta do what you gotta do
- Obviously still in beta and will have some bugs
Final Verdict
love it...i think overall it's a good app, especially for people on IOS who've been wanting more customization options without having to like side store the app onto their phone. and also my friends use it!! yay!!!

GRRAT NEWS! you can import your SP here using either the token or a json file, as well as PluralKit (as well as enable sync edits)
now i personally don't know how well this works as i keep my PK profiles and app files separate due to mark down reasons, but it's cool nonetheless! it reminds me of Octocon and how they synced with their bot
now i personally don't know how well this works as i keep my PK profiles and app files separate due to mark down reasons, but it's cool nonetheless! it reminds me of Octocon and how they synced with their bot
Profiles
profile editing is pretty straightforward, like the other apps. you add tags to someone's profile, pronouns, profile picture, and fill out the fields given to you (premade or ones you make yourself)
for PFP's, you need a link to add it (same as any other image in the app), which can be a hassle to upload the pfp you want onto a site like PostImages (if you make the pfp yourself or just don't have a link to the direct photo)
completed profile example
Tags
"tagging" or "groups" works the same as SP, you create a tag and then subgroups for it
this is an example on what ours looks like (one of them at least)
and the cool thing is that you can pin a certain one on an alters profile, so it's like..an important thing (we used that to mark who was in a subsystem since this app doesn't have a subsystem option)
Terminology
so another cool thing, this app lets you change the terminology used for the app in settings! i used this to change ours
(tea room because our front room is a tea room)
Custom Fields
custom fields can be added through settings as well, similar to how you do with SP. but like Plural Log, you can't reorder them but you can edit them once creating them, and all support markdown!
Fronting
so to add an alter to front, you have to hold down on them, then it gives you the option to add them, and then pins the fronters at the top of the list (if yours isn't in the A-Z organization setting)
like other apps, Ourcana also offers to tell you your front history in a similar format to Simply Plural, you can pick from a 1 Day report to an overall report
Alter Listing
there's a lot of options for alter listing, you can do 2-4 columns, or a list, and organize it from A-Z or date added (i think that's what it means when it says "Last")
however, it doesn't matter what their name is, it will always go by Display Name when being organized A-Z, and choosing if the display name is the only one visible is a toggled option
Journal
this app also has a journal section, and unlike Plural Log, you can mark multiple alters as writing it, and like Plural Log, you can add tags to the entry. however there doesn't seem to be a mood button like PL
Flaws / Cons?
- No social feature
- App is still in development, on IOS, only testflight version is stable to use
- Will be a subscription when released (0.99 to my knowledge, which isn't a lot but isn't advised for those who's abusers can see their purchase history)
(p.s. dev says theyll give a free version to those who request it if they cannot pay for it, however i don't know how well that process will be managed)
- No custom front options per alter
- when importing SP, PFP's do not import
- offline so data gets deleted if app is deleted, data also cannot be transferred through devices (you can import the system on another device, but updates on profiles and fronts won't sync)
Final Verdict
i'd say similar to Plural Log however is better for those who are more into decor as there's a lot more room for it here, and it's just as easy to navigate.
i'd use it if it wasn't a paid subscription and actually trusted the devs for the free app process
but recommend to those who like decorating and don't mind not being able to share their profiles with friends!
As you know, i've been doing (or trying) to review system apps, however i've ran into an issue that's been stumping me.
AI usage in coding.
i'm anti-AI, and the last thing i want to do is review an app that uses AI to code, so i will ask for your help: please reblog or mention me in a post with a list of plural / system apps that have used AI within their coding so i know which ones to avoid. i don't want to give sensitive information to AI and i'd hate to accidentally encourage others to do the same
i have access to berrytree's test flight so i'll do a review on that app as well, however there's still bugs being sorted out so i'll be waiting for those to be taken care of before starting my full review c:
PluralSpace is still in progress cuz some of the stuff confuses me i'm trying my best
