So…

Here’s the plot of the AU:

Neil goes to Camp Campbell thinking it’s a science camp, but he soon discovers it’s a scam.

In this AU, he doesn't take the initiative to steal the bus and escape on his own; instead, he just complains, avoids the other campers, and tries to conduct experiments.

Then one day, he gets dragged into some bushes.

A boy covers his mouth and holds a pocketknife to his throat.

It’s Max, who in this AU was sent to the Wood Scouts camp to straighten out his bad behavior.

He wants to escape and forces Neil to help him under threat.

He makes Neil steal the camp car keys.

Before he can get away, Neil asks to go with him.

Max is surprised that Neil wants to escape too, but since he likes him, he agrees, and the two of them flee in the car.

But of course, neither of them knows how to drive, so they crash.

Gwen and David return Max to the Wood Scouts and scold Neil.

Even so, the two boys become friends and decide to help each other escape.

During another escape attempt, they steal a boat and try to flee across the lake.

They are intercepted by the Wood Scouts, who want to stop Max and recruit Neil as well.

They end up capsizing the boat.

Neil and Max wind up at the Flower Scouts camp.

There, they run into Nikki.

In this AU, she wasn't kicked out of the Flower Scouts, but the other girls (especially Sasha, Erin, and Tabii) constantly mocked her, criticized her interests, and shunned her. This lowered her self-esteem and made her more withdrawn. She still loves nature, getting dirty, chaos, and adventure, but she feels self-conscious and tries to act in a feminine way.

Nikki disguises them as girls while they're unconscious—using makeup and makeshift leaf wigs—to keep the Flower Scouts from handing them over to the Wood Scouts.

Max and Neil wake up and, well, go along with Nikki's plan, infiltrating the Flower Scouts until they can figure out a way to escape.

In the process, they become friends with Nikki. She’s surprised that they don't judge her for her interests and that she can talk freely about the things she likes.

Eventually, Max and Neil are discovered, but they manage to escape with Nikki by flying away on a giant hawk—though not before Nikki gives Sasha and her friends a piece of her mind and tells them to go to hell.

The hawk ends up taking them back to Camp Campbell.

Max and Nikki are forced to return to their respective camps, but they and Neil promise to try escaping together again.

So that’s the plot: the three friends trying to escape.
