It has taken a bit to put this together because the little I read around didn't fit right with what I was perceiving from it. This song is so beautiful and meaningful. It is one of my favorites, It's the music and it's the story, but it's not just about Louis.

It all starts with their memories, those of their free time, the fun and relaxed moments of the trip that brought them together. There are issues, nothing new probably, nothing big but they start to interfere with that memorable time, preventing Harry from fully enjoying it and wondering if he should bring it up...

The music is cheerful, giggly even, in a steady rhythm that induces a state of joyful calm; a constant and happy rhythm.

The breakfast reference is very revealing. He is naming 5 different options that 5 different guys have probably chosen too many times in their morning menus (I can perfectly identify Harry’s and Louis ’preferences). Writing about breakfast implies a bond beyond a simple friendship, people don’t share it with average friends; lunch, dinner, cocktails… you name it, but breakfast generally entails living together, it's about family. So with that in mind “I will always love you” let me picture Harry silently reminiscing about those morning scenes and thinking “I will always love you guys, no matter what”, confirming their lifetime bonding, melting into the happy moments of them together.

Harry has "never" used the direct approach to say his “ILYs” to Louis through his songs, he is poetic, it has always been more special. This is for me a fraternal open way to share his sincere love for his brothers.

In the song, Harry keeps wondering if he should raise his voice and share his concerns.

Later on, the music becomes different, speeds up the rhythm and talks about when they became an international band. Success leads to mechanical behaviors, soft drugs and wine consumption, which mark a different level of partying versus the one described before. If you remember the recent BH&G quote ["At the time, there were still the kiss-and-tell things. Working out who I could trust was stressful,”] referring to the days in the band that seem to be aligned with the line in the song “Kiss her and don’t tell”.

The next stage pointed to another relevant period in their career: conquering the American market. The list of significant memories for Harry during this time, definitely shows the life of debauchery they were dealing with: the hard drugs, the damages that shouldn't be shown, social media out of control, sexual exhibition & atmosphere, the poisoned gift, always prevailing the show… so, he stops wondering if he should and finally asks “Should we keep doing this?”

We have listened to the boys and Harry himself over interviews pointing at him like the first member to raise the idea of the band taking a break. We would never know if this exactly happened like this, but according to this song seems pretty close.

“Meet me half way”, “Only angel”, “she” : HS3

In “Only Angel” H uses the angel metaphor -general knowledge: angels don’t have gender- encouraging himself to reflect on it without prejudices.

He knows “he is stuck” with both genders’ essences, he appreciates it & wants to enjoy them, he desperately asks for an invitation into the bedroom, as a representation of his intimate & private area, where to be him & her indistinctively, freely.

This is a very revealing part of Harry’s discovery journey, since we have listened to references of both identities considered but not coexisting. They literally meet in the hallway -when one goes out, the other rests in- almost as unfolding one person in two.

“She is my angel, my only angel” Harry clearly accepts and welcomes this figure, stablishing how she is the only “female” he will ever own.

“She tells to her brother” “bro”/“pal”/ “male side” his intention of finally setting all the containment out, leading to face a passionate no “goodness” angel at all, she is free and uncontrollable. Not to ever be ignored again.

EVOLUTION

Gender fluid realization. His feminine & masculine sides are not coexisting in his public persona, he even tries to ignore it.

Both genders acceptance. Need the intimate connection to exists between them, becoming one. He comes down to let the feminine exploration grow in him.

Gender fluidity can’t be no longer ignored. She has became a bigger part of him, more relevant. She is now part of his universe, but still hidden to the outsiders.

According to the path that Harry is following, it won’t surprise me that HS3 gives us more present of his feminine side, completing his persona also towards the public.

The childish language used in this song made me go into a shock I am not sure I have finally gotten over it. This was my process... I thought, "Harry?! the master of language... I feel like a kid is talking to me" and right there, the pieces settled in an instance.

What at first sounded unbelievable, turned out to be the key to locating it in the Larry timeline: At the beginning, when they were teens. That's exactly the point of view used to describe the relationship. Harry speaks to himself, he likes this person, it just "feels right", which is enough and admits some unspoken insecurities as "we sleep together so must mean we are exclusive, serious about it."

The song narrates a romantic relationship, particularly their intimacy and sexual shared moments; with the innocence filling the air, I can picture this as part of their discovery process. "tell me what you want, and you got it, love. I wanna know you give me all you got, that cinema" making sure about his partner enjoyment, the open offering and demanding take, but also, again, this choice of words like a pretended/exaggerated adult having sex, like learned from porn.

The cinema concept made me think of Louis as a movie star through Harry's eyes, how he was so overwhelmed by his charm him. A synonym for the best, the unreachable & desireable; as he plays along the song adapting its meaning from the romanticism to the sex, including the cinema references in between leads again to some porn presence??

In the final part, there's a sequence of cinemas turning into cinnamons which everyone can look up for its aphrodisiac effects, especially in men & pops (corn😝); which made me think of pot and contained tension that would lead to orgasms depending on the phrase.

Bottom line, away from the pots/poppers it references to that idealization of ​​someone or social image becoming their true self when they are alone: "you pop" you really show up when we get intimate.

The movie seemed to be very good...!!!
